This chart is real, straight from the Centers for Disease Control. And it’s spectacular:

We went from 12 million flu shots in 1980 to almost 200 million in 2020.
Great job! We totes got rid of the flu, right?
Well, here’s flu deaths from 1959 to 2016:

See the trend?
No?
THAT’S BECAUSE THERE ISN’T ONE. There is absolutely no relationship between the number of flu “vaccines” we give and deaths from influenza.
Actually it’s worse that that, because 2017-18 - not shown on this chart - was the worst year for flu deaths in decades - probably since the Hong Kong flu of 1968.
Turns out the flu shot is just as useless as the Covid shot, but no one noticed because it isn’t as dangerous.
Not as dangerous medically, I mean. Arguably more dangerous societally because the public health bureaucracy’s commitment to ramping up flu shots at all costs became the prototype for the Covid mRNA shot campaigns…

Same here ... and I’ve yet to have any doctor question my decision, even those who encourage the annual needles.
Good observation.
This link has the per capita death rate from 1950 to 2018. It’s pretty obvious there was a definite decline. Although whether that can be attributed to the flu vaccine by itself it is pretty uncertain considering the changes in the medical care and overall life expectancy of over the last 70 years.

I would note my post 22, which touches upon the original academic article, and in which I eat a small helping of crow. That said, your link does need to be factored in on the other side.
Never had a flu shot, never saw the need, never convinced of the effectiveness, never convinced they made the vaccine for all the correct strains.
While the mortality is in absolute numbers and not as a rate of mortality I still don’t see any correlation between the number of shots and the deaths. It may have gone down slightly but not enough to mention.
>> moots the tenor
“mutes the tenor” could actually work here
Yeah, that woulda been cuter, for sure :)
Decade Population Growth rate.
1950 151,325,798 14.50%
1960 179,323,175 18.50%
1970 203,211,926 13.32%
1980 226,545,805 11.48%
1990 248,709,873 9.78%
2000 281,421,906 13.15%
2010 308,745,538 9.71%
2020 331,449,281 7.35%
This is a apples to oranges comparison. The U.S. population doubled between 1950 and 2020. This means since the total deaths each year for flu are roughly constant, then the overall rates of flu deaths per capita are decreasing.
Except this is for doses distributed, not doses administered. From this data, there is no way to tell the number of flu shots administered, and no way to tell rates of flu death per year.
See post 22 among others. This has been a good thread.
too bad alex bersenson has turned into a non-credible propagandist ... that chart of absolute number of deaths is meaningless ...
what matters is per capita deaths ... the U.S. population increased about 64% from 1960 til now, so a constant death rate from influenza means that the per capital death rate declined by 64% from 1960 to now ...
Well there are so many variables involved in determining the true efficacy of the flu vaccine on a large scale basis.
My family doctor says that due to the way they now concoct the vaccine, he thinks it has lost a lot of its usefulness. He told me it was basically a toss up whether I wanted to get it or not. I haven’t for 45 years or more.
At this point I’m going to inject a little bit of paranoia, while I consider it pretty unlikely, I don’t trust the government or the manufacturers to not be shoving covid mRNA into them. They have clearly demonstrated there is literally nothing they won’t do if they believe they can get away with it.
Well the first year of covid I got the flu shot and the pnemonia shot for the first time but none of the covid shots. This year i didn’t get flu nor covid shots either. Went through the winter without even a cold this year too.
So danged if you do and or don’t it seems. But Covid shots - never.
