THE Bold and the Beautiful fans were left in shock after Finn was shot during Friday’s episode.
The cliffhanger ending has viewers fearing the worst, that Finn is dead and actor Tanner Novlan is leaving the series.
Fans had been worried that Steffy Forrester, played by Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, would be exiting the soap, but now many are concerned it’s actually her husband Finn who might be departing.
Dr. John "Finn" Finnegan told his villainess mother, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), he'd consider giving her a chance down the road to have somewhat of a relationship with him, but that didn't last long.
This was before his wife Steffy learned that Sheila caused Stef's step-mom, Brooke, to relapse by switching out her non-alcoholic champagne with the real version.

My wife’s grandmother and her soap friends went trick or treating as senior citizens on Halloween. They dressed up, watch their soaps, and then they went trick or treating in their small midwest town.
Apparently, watching their soaps was like being in church, except they could laugh or cry.
Most of the time, the soaps, my grandmother watched were like a shot of energy and good memories of when she and my grand father watched them, The two of them having lunch, watching the soaps and sharing what was good in their lives.
Well, Sheila is at the hospital, with Steffy in a coma.
Yeah, killed off Finn as I expected. They could send Steffy off to some coma center while the actress has her 3rd child. Killing her off would mean ending the love triangle between her, Liam and Hope, and they’re not going to do that.
If Brooke, had never been so mean to Sheila, none of this would have happenned
Yup. The “Slut From the Valley” strikes again. She’s always been the biggest wrecking ball on the show.
Then again, Steffy was never going to let Sheila be around baby Hayes or Finn, so she was already a ticking time bomb.
My prediction, this story line will last another six weeks, with Sheila worrying about Steffy's memory and to keep it that way, and the ending will be Steffy being re-introduced to Hayes, and the memories come flooding back.
Forgot to add, they brought Quinn and Carter back into the story line.
This was why they couldn’t kill off Steffy. They had to reactivate the love triangle again with dopey Liam. Too bad Sheila didn’t throw the whole lot of them off the top of the hospital building.
I feel sorry for poor Carter, he just keeps hooking up with unavailable women. They even had the cringeworthy brief storyline when he hit on the tranny wife of Rick Forrester’s (and where on earth is Rick ?).
Over at Y&R, they “Finn’d” Rey Rosales, who was lacking for any coherent storyline since he was poisoned. I could see that coming a mile away.
Agree; Liam is a total hand-wringing, indecisive, amoral wimp. Cannot stand the character or the actor.
Carter is one of the best-looking men on television and his story lines have been so far-fetched. It’s as if the writers just discovered that a black man should have a vital story lines, but they obviously haven’t bothered to build his character until BLM came to town. (Not that I think he has anything to do with that.) The Neil Winters character on Y&R was always completely realized. Tragic what happened to Kristoff St John personally.
As if anyone else on that show is on a firm grasp of reality—LOL!
Writers have wimped out Rey Rosales anyway in relation to Y&R’s version of Brooke (Sharon, who has been in the sack with most of the males in Genoa City), so he is better off finding some better roles for himself.
I’ve been watching Y&R practically since the 80s, due to being bedridden temporarily when it started, and I got hooked. But it’s really sucking lately. Love the actor and actress who play Devon and Hilary, but the story line with Devon, Abby and Chance’s baby-sharing is revolting, as is the wedding planning in the coffee house. The Abby character does little but whine and ruin her mascara. And don’t get me started on Phyllis. Nails on a blackboard.
I’m kind of interested in the Victoria and Ashton story, but they will mess it up shortly. Y&R hasn’t been good since Justin Hartley left and went to This is Us, which is very good. And almost over.
Liam’s portrayer is a big-time atheist. Not one of those “I’ll leave you alone” atheists, but one of those billboard-glaring, in-your-face atheist types. He’s made it a religion. I’ve never understood why he became the center of attention for both Steffy and Hope. I remember when he was the teenaged “twerpyish/edgy” son of Tracy Quartermaine on GH, he was annoying back then.
I’ve surmised that B&B simply cannot write for Black characters, and they have a “Negro Limit” on the show. Once there are more than three Blacks in an active storyline, somebody is about to disappear. Carter has been so poorly written, only surpassed by the even worse treatment of Justin Barber’s character (and while he’s still on the credits, he has vanished, along with the storyline he was in after going rogue on Dollar Bill Spencer). The Avant family vanished, too, despite the fact the one daughter had Rick’s son as a surrogate, nevermind Maya “the tranny.”
They made Justin’s son, Marcus (with Donna Logan) disappear, too, along with poor Dayzee, shipping them all off to South Africa (!) back 9 years ago. Maybe they’re all in Wakanda now.
Anyway, that’s typical of the terrible writing for just the Black characters.
With respect to Y&R, I agree it’s terrible what happened to Kristoff St. John. Curiously, the actor died as they also killed off Devon’s wife. It definitely pushed Bryton James to have to up his game in having to fill Neil’s shoes. I’m at least glad they didn’t recast Neil. Some characters you just can’t recast.
Rey was fading away into the background. I didn’t fully expect they’d kill him off but would head him in the direction of an affair with Chelsea. When they sent his family back to Miami, he was sort of just by himself. Another thing was that I never thought he had much chemistry with Sharon. Why he’d want to marry someone a decade older with her track record and too old to start a family with didn’t ring true. At least with Chelsea he could’ve had a kid, and he clearly was partial to being a father-figure to her son (and his character was clearly pining for a kid, and not for his stepchildren).
As for Abby and Chance, they’ve had so many actor changes for the latter, I can’t really get all that invested. The current actor just isn’t doing it. The prior actor was better and had good chemistry with Abby.
Phyllis is OK, but can get stuck in a rut. With her kids all gone, she’s lost focus. I enjoyed the actress taking a break from Y&R to play a new character on GH. They brought Diane back from the dead, although the previous actress before Maura West now looks like a very rough and haggard 70 (shocking to see her in the flashbacks when she looked young for her age).
As for the Victoria and Ashton Locke storyline, it really died with the firing of Richard Burgi. They had chemistry, but the new guy, who was apparently a beloved vet of Guiding Light (a soap I never watched), seems like a stand-in who was just acting like a constipated robot. They really should can this guy and get Burgi back to save the convoluted as hell storyline (which I never bought, since if Ashton was faking cancer, they showed Burgi’s Ashton clearly ill even with no one around to “sell” it to - so apparently they must’ve decided to retcon the storyline).
I won’t even touch the Mariah & Tessa storyline, except to say it seems forced and political because sadly the writers couldn’t do a close friendship storyline without turning it sexual. Neither of the actresses being lesbians makes it all the more silly. I’m presuming they will try to get Tessa “out of the lifestyle” to be with Noah (because, despite all the claims of wanting to portray gays and trannies and whatnot, the mostly female viewing audience doesn’t want to see that stuff).
Well, Camryn Grimes: https://liverampup.com/entertainment/camryn-grimes-married-lesbian-gay.html
I read that they fired Burgi because he came back from quarantine too soon, and rules is rules. Dumb move — they should have put him on ice for a month or two and let him come back.
I also read that the former Chance (Danny Boaz), whom I liked, was forced off the show because most of the cast and especially Eric Braeden hate Trump, but Boaz supported him, so Braeden had a hissy fit and forced him out. Boaz is from Texas originally, and with that trace of an accent, he sounded more authentically like a “militarry” guy. The new one looks like he would ‘t know a rifle from a weed whacker.
Your take on B&B’s poor writing for black characters sounds right on the money. Granted, California blacks who have good jobs may be a whole different thing than our originals on the east coast and the south, but what a waste of the Carter character, Lawrence Saint-Victor. The Justin Barber character was miscast to begin with—he just doesn’t have a “top lawyer” vibe. But you’re right; the storyline of making war on Bill Spencer could have been great, but they wasted it. The B&B character I like best is the wicked naughty Quinn! But that’s best among a bunch of quite mediocre players.
I also read that the Sheila actress is an avocado farmer. What an interesting person! She has an actual life.
Thorston Kaye needs to have his sinuses treated, and also a long hot shower, a good scrub and a shampoo.
That last part goes double for Eric Braeden, ol’ Greasy Head.
I think Camryn made the claim to be bisexual to try to give the character credibility. Otherwise, it’s pretty clear in her personal life that she wants men.
I didn’t even know Burgi was fired until I saw his replacement, and I was like, “Wow, bad recast.”
Too bad about Boaz. But I’ve gone past the point that these actors should sue if they’re forced out over politics. Dems wouldn’t hesitate to sue a GOP boss for firing. It’s open discrimination. I didn’t even know Braeden’s politics, aside from being an advocate for German-Americans. You’d think the vicious bigotry directed at President Trump (slurring his ancestral German name of Drumpf) would provoke a reaction from Braeden. I guess it doesn’t count if you’re not a Demonrat Communist. Another Hollyweird hypocrite.
As an aside, though, I think once he leaves the show or dies, Y&R won’t last long. Without him as the villain of sorts, there isn’t another strong male lead to keep the show going. Supposedly Burgi was brought in to fill that potential upcoming void, but with him out and the failure of his successor, that’s not happening. Joshua Morrow’s Nick isn’t strong enough. Jack Abbott is too wimpy. Adam Newman has some promise, though I think Michael Muhney was better in the role. Had Braeden never been on, Y&R probably would’ve faded out by the ‘90s, along with the other CBS soaps.
With respect to B&B, it may also be a problem that with such a short show (and really, it’s only about 17 minutes of actual show, the remainder being the intro/exit credits and commercials), they don’t have the time to focus on a large cast of characters, so they end up giving short shrift to the Black ones with rare exceptions. I thought they should’ve expanded it to an hour (which still would make it just 35 minutes of actual show), which might’ve given those other characters a chance for decent storylines. They’ve been so focused in the past 6 months on just a handful of characters (the endless Ridge & Brooke bleh-fest; Liam & Hope; Steffy) that everyone else has been shut out. Katie Logan has vanished, same for Donna. Bill Spencer was prominent, but after the suicide-by-car of Thomas’s friend and the jailing bit, he’s vanished, too. Same for Wyatt Spencer and his g/f Flo (I’ll admit to having a crush on Katrina Bowden). You’d think they’d at least give them a proper wedding and send them off.
Sheila’s Kimberlin Brown ought to be in Congress. She ran in a formerly GOP-held district (now held by a Communist moonbat) not too long ago, likely another victim of rampant voter fraud and chicanery in that state.
Thorsten Kaye I’ve never adjusted to as Ridge. He’s still playing Zach Slater from “All My Children”, a dark thug. Total 180 from Ronn Moss, who, while not exactly was a stellar actor, he was believable as the laid-back California dude. Kaye is always angry or suppressing rage and has that peculiar faintly German accent.
Although Brooke still has the same actress in the role after 35 years, it’s long past time to stop these ludicrous storylines where all the men fall at her feet. They could get away with that when the actress was 25, maybe even 35. She’s 60 years old, and seeing Ridge, Bill & Deacon (for that matter, even Eric is fawning) STILL going ga-ga for her just takes the cake. This is the attention Hope, Steffy and Flo should be getting, not the elderly “Slut From the Valley”, as Stephanie Forrester so aptly nailed. Being with a real Brooke would be like tossing a hot dog down a hallway. Yuck.
Just reflecting on what we are supposed to believe—that Kevin Harley as Adam got a new face surgically from Sally Kellerman's dying nephew after the explosion at the cabin, and it was Michael Grossman -- I cringe in shame that I'm still hooked on this dreck. When Ashland carried Victoria to a cabin the other day, it looked like the same set for the one they blew up to destroy the Kevin Hartley / Adam!!! LOL! Truly, I have no excuse.
It's really a shame about Kristoff, since of all the old-time characters, he could have taken the lead after Victor finally goes (and not a moment too soon, IMO). He had been there forever and had close and substantial ties with all the big families and long-time players, and had both a big-time music business and an alcoholism foundation.
But if Y&R survives after Victor, they could creditably put the reins in Bryton James' hands. The "Hilary" he is living with, Mishael Morgan (?), had to be killed off because she was absolutely the star of that period of time when she was playing her evil twin; but in her contract renewal negotiations they didn't offer her enough, so she split. Lord only knows if they paid her decently to come back. Personally, I think that when someone does yet another biopic of Meghan Markle, she should get the role. It will demand real acting, because her real personality seems so much nicer.
I always get a kick out of Hollyweird being “so serious” about sexual harassment. A town promoting open degeneracy to the public yet acting so puritanical, it’s hysterical. I admit it would be tough for a red-blooded guy not to get worked up by Hunter King.
They would come up with these weird storylines to explain switching actors/actresses. Recall “Dynasty” when they replaced Steven Carrington’s actor. At least the actors had somewhat of a resemblance. They didn’t bother to come up with a storyline to explain switching out Pamela Sue Martin’s Fallon for that British actress with the big boobs. Probably the worst and most ludicrous recast on a nighttime soap.
As for soap sets, it’s not like the ‘80s anymore when the networks could lavishly subsidize their daytime shows. Another 10 years from now, they’ll be reduced to acting on a bare stage. The money is gone.
As for Bryton James taking over as the star, I don’t think he has the charisma and depth. He’s fine as a supporting player, but he’s not star material. Peter Bergman should be, if Jack Abbott wasn’t such a wimp. Had Shemar Moore remained, he had the “it” factor, but his career is better off starring on a nighttime action adventure show, “S.W.A.T.”
As for Mishael Morgan, she seems to have fallen into the background, along with her family (a bit of the B&B syndrome with Black characters ?). They seemed to be prepping her newfound half-sister for a bigger role (as a “bad” girl), but she has largely vanished. I think Mishael was better as Hilary, Amanda is not as interesting (well, maybe less interesting after her past was fleshed out). Devon rushing from Hilary to Amanda (with a pit stop of Elena in between) struck me as a little too weird. Would a twin really want to fill the romantic shoes of her deceased sister ?
I can’t see Mishael Morgan playing nearly-White Princess Sparkles. If anything, if Meggers has to go back to acting, she could play the horrid Vice-Puppet Whore. Both are relentless and amoral gold diggers.
I figure that's the real reason Rick and Maya were sent off to Europe, never to be seen again. Karla Mosley (the Maya actress) subbed for Hilary on Y&R for a couple of days recently when Mishael was having surgery in real life. That role on B&B ruined Karla.
The one I liked was Maya's mother. That actress (Anna Maria Horsford) played Sherman Helmsley's daughter in an old sitcom called "Amen", about a black pastor who was a little bit shady. It was a clean and very funny show, though. Both she and Helmsley were hilarious, trying to get the young assistant pastor to marry her, and they succeeded.
Yes, I remember “Amen.” They also had the character actor Obba Babbatunde as Mr. Avant. Of course, they were using him as a whipping boy for Christian values in opposing “Maya’s” becoming a female (and they also had him father another girl out of wedlock, to paint him as a hypocrite). Of course, all 5 of the Avants are gone with the wind despite the grandchild being a Forrester.
I used to read some of the other message boards that were closed down (didn’t like negative, i.e. “Conservative” feedback). I watched Karla Moseley’s Maya from day one when it was clear she was a woman who’d been released from prison desperately searching for her child she’d been forced to give up. Not a tranny. When they decided to retcon her story, you’d better believe most of the Black female viewers/fans were vocally enraged on the boards at making Karla a man-turned-woman.
Sure, CBS & B&B got all the accolades for being “brave” and “courageous” and “groundbreaking” from the usual weirdo sources, but to the viewers, this was just another example of ruining what was a strong, Black, and female character, one who climbed her way up from the bottom as an ex-felon. Nevermind they had to corrupt Rick’s character, who would never have touched a tranny with a 100-foot pole. Again, as I said, ultimately no one wanted to see that. Karla really should’ve walked away (much like that other actor on Y&R, who refused to play Adam when they decided to turn him gay for 5 minutes). It was nice to see her briefly play Amanda Sinclair, I thought she did a better job than Mishael, who sometimes just seems to be phoning it in.
They have a tranny on General Hospital, an actual one, but just looks like and sounds like a gay man. They now barely have the character on, and when one of the long-time actors complained/mocked the character (Ingo Radamacher), they ran him off the show. They’ve since run two strong male leads off GH, and it’s not getting better over there.
Chris Engen. He denied that homophobia was the reason; but his acting career seems to have died with that early round of cancel culture. Hollyweird is evil. Hope he is okay.
The only ones I've watched are ATWT, GH, Y&R and B&B. But usually just ATWT until the end, and then mostly just Y&R. The others didn't interest me as much.
I was once introduced by a mutual acquaintance to Christopher Goutman, long-time producer of ATWT, when he was around 15 and I was 21. Of course he was too young for me, so I didn't think anything of it and missed my chance to someday write decent storylines!
I also met Kevin Bacon and his brother and parents when he was around 18 and I was maybe 30. Cute, but ho-hum; another day in the big city. At least I'll be able to win every round of "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" in the old folks' home one day (if they're playing it for who you know who knows him, within six acquaintances).
LOL!! Good one!
So you’d have met Kevin Bacon about the time he was filming his part in “Animal House.”
