Is the St. Vinnie’s on Park Street still open? They used to have a ‘Dig & Save’ there where you could sort through endless bins and buy clothing for X-amount per pound. Look for wool sweaters to buy and take them apart or just use them rolled up as insulation?

Contact some of the sheep farms in the area and ask what they do with the wool they have that’s not good enough quality to rove and see if they’ll sell you bags of it on the cheap?

Rainbow Fleece Farm is in New Glarus, for one. I’ve been to shearings and classes there.
