Another side effect of tox is that is makes those infected find the smell of cat urine pleasant rather than disgusting. This is also why cat ladies can live in a house with dozens of cats without being sickened by the smell.

It is possible emotionally warm women are (understandably) seen as more attractive, while their warmth has also drawn them to cats and to exposure to the infection.
Thus the study may show correlation, but not necessarily causation.
