Just days after the United States men's national team qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, we now know who they will play in Qatar. On Friday, the draw took place, giving us the schedule for the red, white and blue as they return to the cup after missing out in 2018.
The U.S. were placed in Group B and will face England, Iran and a team to be determined. The last opponent will be the victory of a European playoff with Wales, Scotland and Ukraine being the possible opponents.
Gregg Berhalter's team will play at the tournament after a strong run in qualifying, getting a draw at Mexico and crushing Panama this month. A 2-0 loss at Costa Rica cemented their spot, only needing to avoid a six-goal defeat to clinch. This World Cup will come with huge expectations as the team has more talent than ever before led by Chelsea's Christian Pulisic.
The official match schedule for the team will be posted here shortly: Group stage
Monday, Nov. 21 USA vs. Wales/Scotland/Urkaine, TBD
Friday, Nov. 25 England vs. USA, TBD
Tuesday, Nov. 29 Iran vs. USA, TBD
Eight of the starting 11 players on Canada are foreign born. Those players have “lived” in Canada for barely 5 years.
It is a joke to call them “Canadiens”. They are in fact, mercenaries, playing for the highest bidder.
Yep, but England has done that for a long time.
