I’m almost sure it’s an April fools joke.

I only raised bees for a season or 2 but my Dad did for many years (and I was the unpaid help). I’m fairly sure most of the Ukraine is still chilly….and bees are cold blooded.

I don’t think that there are that many people who would go into shock from a honeybee sting. If there were, the Pentagon would be looking at it.

This is a joke. It’s about the same temperature here as it is in Ukraine. The local arboretum has a honey bee display and as of last weekend the new ones had not yet hatched.

BTW, a horse fly hurts a lot more than a honey bee. This story can’t be true.

Can’t help but think of the angry queen bee that Steve Vai dreamed about, and wrote a song... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPgsizQw-1U

This reads like an April Fools hoax. Bees are not carnivores who like to feast on humans.
“...due to a lack of food.” LOL. If they attack as a swarm it’s only to defend their hive.

I know they will say this is a joke, but there are several bio labs in Ukraine.
Not all of them work on viruses.
Just sayin'.

That is the first thing I thought of this piece of BS.

The other is that if bees swarm, I dont know of any swarms that will attack.

If someone had dumped the hive over and they come out to defend the hive, then that might be considered a swarm to some.

The report is pure BS.

The bees were reported to have left a hive near the village of Chelburda and flew into a nearby Russian camp, where they attacked the soldiers due to a lack of food.

Has to be a joke. Bees don't go swarming around when temperatures are in the 40's. And why would they attack soldiers for a lack of food? Did the soldiers carry honey?

Most hives have at least 75 pounds of honey in reserve for bees during the winter, at least in my neck of the woods (nj) I suspect April fools joke but you never know.
