It’s going to come down to computer generated characters instead of live actors...That way, they don’t have to pay dumb-azz actors millions of dollars...
Yup. I figure that they are pretty much there as far as visuals go. Skip the humans and just let the computers do it.
The next hurdle is the computer-generated voice. It can’t sound like a machine. It needs emotion and subtle tone changes. I’ve seen a lot of progress but I don’t think it’s good enough quite yet. Once they get it down though, a good technician will be able to wring out a lot of emotion from the artificial actor.
I think it will be 100% machine-made within 10 years.
And an artificial actor can make hundreds of movies over a career spanning many decades, if that’s what people want. No aging, no going to fat. Always just as good as ever.
