We just had this snow squall blow through The Jersey Shore area.

Weirdest thing. Sunny one minute and a raging squall the next.

Sun’s out now. Sorry for those folks in PA.

Is this climate change?
A snow storm in late March?

I was just past I-81 this morning. It was hard driving in the snow. Not this bad though.

I-81 in Schuylkill County, especially around Pine Grove and Ravine, are well known for these snow squalls.

Good God Almighty what the hell is wrong with some people?

That idiot in the gray SUV came sailing through there like it was the INDY 500.

Too many people.

Allowing your country to be a giant flop house has consequences.

We coulda been a wealthy, sparsely populated and safe country. Instead we are this.

But, thank God they can't call us racist. Oh, but they still do?

Idiots refuse to slow down when visibility drops to nothing.

Comments are interesting.

One person says it was completely preventable and some idiot asks how nature is preventable.

It was completely preventable.

Drive for the conditions and most of that would not have happened.

You are going along just fine, and then bam!, you can’t see shit. Not to mention the deer...

Yes, I’ve been there. Scary.

There were some minor snow squalls on I-71 in Ohio yesterday... not anything like this. I typically drive about 5 miles over the 70 mph interstate limit... vehicles were passing me like I was pedaling a tricycle. I saw no police during a 4-hour trip.

Wow!

Wife & I have driven that stretch of I-81 through snow showers, squalls, and storms many times in the past 3-decades...

Even if it was March, April, May or Sept, October, we always used to say, “we’re almost to Minersville & Frackville, watch for the snow...”

It would be almost as bad once we headed east on I-84 after Scranton... Frequent “warm-weather” snow showers & squalls...

That section of I-81 is 9n top of the mountain and has the worst weather. I’ve hit snow squalls there frequently when everywhere else is clear.

When you get down to Pine Grove it clears up.

My husband and I were just a few hours behind this horrific crash on I-81 on Monday. We were making one of our runs between northern Connecticut and Bluffton, SC, where we will be moving to permanently in a few months. We were heading north to CT.

I kept seeing "red" traffic problems via Google Maps ahead on 81 in the Frackville, PA area - on both sides of the highway. We couldn't figure out what was happening, as this stoppage of traffic went on for a long time. Finally I got a Fox News alert on my phone, detailing this deadly crash.

Hubby and I had to take a couple of detours on other highways / roads to avoid this accident site (both sides of 81 were closed down at this point). At times we ended up (at elevation) in two similar snow squalls, with near-zero visibility. Surrounded by 18 wheeler trucks, etc.

When the squalls hit us, I told my husband to get off the road ASAP. We did, and took breaks until the squalls passed through. Overly cautious? I don't care... We both came home alive.

Nerve-wracking ride back to CT on Monday, until the weather finally cleared up. I kept fearing another squall would hit us - they seemed to come out of nowhere. Thank God we arrived home safe. Prayers to everyone involved in this horrific crash on Monday...

Video captured terrifying moments as huge I-81 crash happened in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania
