I do have a minor comment about that:
The reason Qaddafi collected and held Gold in Libya, for Libya, was for Independence from IMF and the attached US Dollar, to avoid Debt Slavery for Libyans, and the hopes of becoming the Banker for Middle East/North African Muslim Nations.
Ghadaffi's vision for a gold-backed dinar is probably what led to NATO's chevauchée.
Not just to secure all that lovely gold into western hands, but also to prevent any possible gold/oil bourse.
