Except that niacin has a widely-reported side effect, the “niacin flush”, that some find bothersome and objectionable. This report made specific note of the absence of an adverse side effect.

For whatever reason, I’ve always been susceptible to the annoying effects of Niacin flush. Two months ago, a Freeper recommended Zero Flush Niacin from “Finest Nature” and I now do daily 500mg with no side effects. I am stage 4 CKD with high blood pressure. It’s contributed to a twenty percent reduction in BP but I’ve not yet taken my quarterly blood test per gfr, etc. so I’ll be curious to see if there are any improvements there.

you can buy timed release niacin. that’s the same niacin that flushes only its released in small quantities over time so you don’t notice it
