Collins was joined by Genesis bandmates Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks for their last show ever at London's 02 Saturday evening. Collins, 71, performed the show sitting down and quipped to the crowd he will now need to find a real job, the Daily Mail reported.

I just finished reading Phil’s autobiography. He was very insecure of his position in Genesis. That’s amazing to me, since I thought he MADE them.

Any Genesis fan knows Tony Banks made Genesis, ironically he's the only member who didn't have solo success.

Michael Jackson came from a dysfunctional family (not unusual in show business). I feel sorry for the young Michael Jackson while I am horrified at whatever it was he became later in life.

Meanwhile Hackett hasn’t aged much at all, still playing gigs of classic Genesis songs.

Whatever did Sussudio mean?

It was a nonsense word used as a placeholder for the melody of the song.

Genesis (and Phil Collins) would jam in the studio for weeks at at time. After a while, they'd take their best jams and attempt to put words to them. Sometimes they could not come up with proper words so the nonsense word was left in.

Abacab was another example. Also, "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" was almost left as "Monkey, Zulu" until somebody had the inspiration to say "Tonight" three times in a row.

Hasn’t Phil been working because some ex-wife was taking him to the cleaners in recent years? He may have plenty of ongoing cash flow with royalties and licensing his music and whatnot, though.

He’s got a bitch from hell ex-wife. Extremely toxic and abusive situation.

I wish talented musicians would just shut up and sing. Same with actors.

Whatever did Sussudio mean?

I don't know, but the beat to that song was legendary.

As a Genesis fan dating back to the PG era, it was painful to view some YT videos of this final tour.  It is sad to see Phil's current physical condition, & his vocals are shot, too.

I couldn't help thinking they did this tour as one final money grab with Phil having to slouch in a chair to get through each show.

He played a con man in a Miami Vice episode. One of the better episodes, imo.

He is a hugw lefty based on what? The British media hounded him for being a conservative, but he doesn’t seem tge political. You just smeared someone like a lefty, do you have a shred of evidence to back it up?

Great music but I never liked him bashing Reagan with land of confusion

Yep. That album sucked. ABACAB was great tho.

His breakout solo album Face Value was the result of his breakup with his first wife.

Well, if you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
Well, I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin,
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies

During the mid 1980s, Phil Collins was as big a rock star as could be possible. Between Genesis and solo albums, he was all over the radio airwaves during that time.

I first saw Phil Collins at the now-defunct The Music Hall in Houston, TX in 1983.

I had tickets to see Genesis at The Summit (now The Lakeland Church) in Houston in 1984. Phil Collins got sick and the concert was postponed by one day, but I had a business trip that day and couldn't go. I didn't get to see Genesis until many years later.
