Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins had 10 different substances in his system when he died, Colombia's attorney general said Saturday in a statement. Hawkins, 50, was found dead in his hotel room in Bogotá on Friday night, shortly before the band was set to perform in the capital city.

Among the drugs found by a urine toxicological test performed by officials were marijuana, opioids, antidepressants and benzodiazepines, the statement said. An exact cause of death was not announced, and the National Institute of Forensic Medicine continues to investigate, the attorney general said.

The band said in a statement Friday that Hawkins' death was a "tragic and untimely loss."

Guy always had a smile on his face. Seemed to be the kind of guy who always to please people, but at the cost of his own happiness. You see that a lot in show business.

I don’t see how they can go on without Taylor, the FF were pretty much him and Dave.

I think the band would be better if all the members were replaced and didn't play any of their songs, but that's just me :)

Probably not. People can rationalize almost anything.

That’s really uncalled for

He had his wife and kids with him

You want everyone you disagree with to die.....that’s absurd

Sometimes this forum I wonder what people are really like

I’m too old to really be a fan but I think I’ve seen him sing their led zeppllin covers and he acquitted himself well

He was complaining of chest discomfort before

It’s north bogota and around 9000-9500 feet

That exacerbates this stuff

Empathy costs you nothing and on judgement day you might be remembered for it

Not exactly true.....they are frequently prescribed together

The guy had heart disease

He’d complained of chest pains

I know I know

Wardaddy headlines are good enough

I’d always though they were brothers till a few years ago

He obviously was having a heart attack

His complaints of chest pain and breathing

Bogota altitude can help with that

Shame he didn’t get to the hospital first symptoms ....north bogota has a decent hospital ...university of the Lily there has a heart institute and one of the best south of Miami

He did seem that way. But I can’t say I liked his voice. Reminded me of Roger Taylor - as much as he wanted to sing his place was behind the drum kit, not holding a microphone.

Miller was before my time, I was old enough to look forward to and watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan though and realize that I was watching something epic, even at the time.

He had heart disease

Do you know this to be true?

The news today points to heart failure but there's nothing here that says heart disease.

Due to scar tissue (which screams, MYOCARDITIS), the heart weighed twice the normal weight.

Never heard of the guy either. I have heard of the band, but could not name a single Foo Fighters song.

Who would name a band Food Fighters?
