Most people don’t own their iPhones today. They take them out on two-year plans typically before they are paid off. Then they take out a two-year plan on the latest model. Thus, like leasing a car, they never actually own their iPhones.

Exactly. And they trade in their old iPhone for a “discount” on the new model. That’s what I do anyways and I’m sure I’m a fairly common customer. Usually after two years my phone is pretty beat up and I’m a sucker for the latest and greatest. I think I’m on my fourth iPhone now, a 13 Pro Max.

You raise a good point. My iPhone is about 3 1/2 years old. I cracked the screen about a year or so after I got it. Although it was annoying I cracked the screen, it is barely noticeable during use. About six months ago or so, I had to start fiddling with the charging cable to get the phone to charge. If I was traveling more or had to rely on the phone to run a business, I would have a new phone.
