Terrible. Difficult to clean or care for. A hassle to repair or remove. I was stuck with one for 20 years.
And if the bathtub or sink upstairs leaks, part, but not all, of the popcorn texture will fall off, leaving you with a scabby ceiling. The stuff you buy at Home Depot will not fix it; it only makes it worse. And the Youtube advice to spray the textured ceiling with water to soften it up for removal is a joke if it’s been painted more than a couple of times.
