Wow. I haven’t even thought about this song since before Jeanie C. Riley addressed the Harper Valley PTA.

Birds & Bees definitely sounds like it was written for the Doo Wop Era.

Birds & Bees definitely sounds like it was written for the Doo Wop Era.

It was a hit in early 1965 and got a lot of air play on our two rock blasters KRLA and KFWB. Jewel Akens came out of the doo-wop world, having been a member of the Four Dots and the Astro-Jets.
