When his father came to the door, the captain fell to his hands and knees and tapped his forehead on the ground until his father came and raised him. When he went down, I thought he had tripped and almost tried to catch, but I didn't.That's a great story! Travel really does broaden your perspective.

I might add that later, I accompanied the ROK captain to a family funeral in Seoul. When the captain and his father met, they shook hands. The kowtow might have had something to do with a son returning home to his father after a long absence.
