Went “old school” about fifteen years ago.
Fed up with disposable plastic garbage razors, which were so expensive.

Now...Merkur adjustable safety razor and Merkur double edge blades with shaving soap in a Sambos coffee mug (yeah..not PC and I don’t care...it fits the soap perfectly) and a boar’s hair brush. Rich hot lather, DEADLY sharp blades (one side slip and you’ll bleed for an hour) results in a very close, smooth shave with no ingrown hair problems as can be cause by double and triple edge systems

Cost:
Merkur razor is about seventy-five dollars and will last your lifetime.
Ten cents per blade, which last about two weeks
Five dollars per soap puck, which lasts about twelve months
Thirty-five dolllars per brush, which lasts about five years.
Twenty-five dollars for a razor and brush tree, which is essential, because the brush needs to dry hanging bristles down, but lasts forever and looks old school on the bathrom vanity.

It does take a bit more time to wipe and dry the razor. The process is a bit of a ceremony each morning and is enjoyable.

The cost...well that’s very enoyable.

This message is for anyone sick of the stupid high prices of disposable plastic razors and plastic razor cartridges.

NOTE: This may or may not be suitable for female purposes, as these razors are extremely sharp.

...that is all

The old man taught me to shave with a safety razor...maybe I should pick up the habit again.
