I would be against attacking Mexico for stationing Chinese (or Russian) bases and weapons, particularly nuclear.

I would DEMAND that the US tolerate the buildup on our border and NOT DO ANYTHING until we were physically attacked or invaded.

I make that demand because I am an idealist and it is NEVER justified to be the first side to use force against a neighboring country. NEVER!!!!

“NEVER!!!!”

Not even when a foreign state sponsors drug importation, human trafficking, cross border gangs, human invasion and relies on their citizens to repatriate funds from the USA as part of their GDP?

Then you agree that Russia’s war against Ukraine is wrong?

Ned Price of the Dept of State disagrees with you. When asked about possible Russian deployment to Cuba or Venezuela, he said it was unacceptable and that all measures are going to be taken to stop it.

There are no US troops “massing against” Mexico. And Mexico is at peace with its largest trading partner, the US.

Mexico’s border with the US has been essentially stable since the end of the US/Mexico war, except for a couple remnant areas which were resolved over the next 50–70 years. The last of these, the Chamizal, was a debated subject of discussion for some time, and it eventually in 1963 ended up being agreed to be given… to Mexico, reaffirming an understanding from 1911. In this entire time, neither Mexico nor the US militarized the area. This is a big difference.

Mexico already buys Russian weapons without any complaints from the US

for over a century now, the US has prioritized good relations with its neighbors. If the US were constantly trying to annex territory from Mexico and Canada the way Russia is trying to do with Ukraine, and Georgia and China is trying to do with Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Vietnam, and India (did I forget any?) then our rivals would be able to take advantage of that.

Mexico has not been at war with the US for long time, and there is no reason to fear an invasion. The Baltics have been annexed by the USSR for no good reason in 1939, occupied for 50+ years, and more recently threatened militarily. They have legitimate reasons to request protection elsewhere. On the other hand, they are not basing offensive foreign weapons on their territory. And Ukrainia is threatened by Putin.
