Things would be different if say China was invading Russia and was near Moscow.

Don't be coy! Please state explicitly what you mean! How would things be different if, say, China were invading Russia and were near Moscow?

What is it that you are trying to say about the relative fighting vigor of Ukrainian versus Russian troops?

Please be explicit!

Russians do not want this war.

Don't be shy! What do you mean by this remark? Are you attempting to imply that, e.g., the Ukrainians do want this war?

Please don't be so ambiguous!

This is not a defence of the motherland

Why are you pointing this out? Is there anyone who thinks that this is a defense of the Motherland?

Maybe you are "thumbing" these messages on your cellphone, and so are constrained in formulating nuanced statements, so I am being unfair to you, but...

Regards,

I mean simply - Russia is the aggressor in the war in Ukraine.

In the battle of Stalingrad Russia was the defender.

The defender will have more of a motivation if the aggressor wants to destroy everything the defender holds dear.

“Are you attempting to imply that, e.g., the Ukrainians do want this war?” —> No, I’m stating, not implying that PUTIN and his oligarchs want this war, not the common Russian people.

As to “defense of the motherland” — that was Putin’s failed propaganda.
