I actually knew a kid who was a graduate of Principe College - that’s a small liberal arts college in downstate Illinois associated with the Christian Scientists. He was actually a pretty good guy, and very smart; by the time he got married a few years after graduating, he was dealing with standard medicine almost as much as you’d see in the general population. I expect his wife had something to do with that.
LOL, I have nothing against Christian Scientists...I don’t know much about them, and I suspect they wouldn’t even raise an eyebrow if I met one at random and engaged in conversation.
My brother-in-law viewed them as cultish, but I always suspected that was his personality that poked fun at them, not that they were any different on the surface. He was a bit of a “button pusher”...
