The America First Movement has a Sean Hannity Problem
revolver.news ^ | Match 21 | revolver.news

In 2016, Donald Trump showed that a Republican candidate can run, and win, without swearing fealty to the permanent war party. He ran on a platform of “America First,” and since that moment almost all Republican politicians and commentators have at least paid lip service to the idea.

Yet now, all of that is being thrown aside for the sake of Ukraine.

In 2019, would-be America First Senator Josh Hawley delivered a speech about “Rethinking America’s Foreign Policy Consensus,” condemning “endless wars” and “metastasizing commitments” to far-off countries, and demanding a new narrower focus on keeping America and Americans safe and prosperous.

And then Ukraine came along, and Hawley suddenly looked like any other Republican from 2006.

It is one thing to see the Democrats eagerly join the CIA, State Department, and Pentagon in demanding the escalation of U.S. involvement in the Ukraine-Russia conflict. That alignment makes perfect sense politically—why wouldn’t the left align with the same national security state that embraces all of its values, and which has repurposed itself to target the left’s domestic political enemies on the right?

Seeing lawmakers on the right take the same stance, though, is both puzzling and pathetic. The relationship between the national security state and most GOP lawmakers and pundits increasingly resembles the relationship between an abusive husband and his battered spouse. Like a wife who believes her husband still loves her even as he sends her to the hospital, the same lawmakers and Fox News figures who claim to have embraced the Trump realignment are yet again letting themselves get played by a Regime that hates them.

Morning Freepers.

OUTSTANDING article this... Please read/share.

Rand of course won't change his tune. He's the real deal and has been America First on foreign policy his whole life.

As for Hannity and others... Just chickenhawks. Go and fight in the forests of Ukraine Sean, if it means that much to you...

Haven’t watched Fox since the election. No interest in hearing what “The FBI is 99% good guys” has to say and make the Mudoch twins richer.

Time out. I watched Hannity the other night. He was preaching the Reagan Doctrine of avoiding direct conflict. He said that our troops should not be directly engaged but that we should be sending small arms to Ukraine. He also called out DC for war fervor that leads to sending kids to war only to abandon them when it becomes politically expedient.

They know who they are enriching. They know the lie and muzzle by management about 2020 and yet they remain. All the fox regulars have sold out for 30 pieces of silver. Don’t want to hear from any of them.

That is interesting however the article points out he is/was for sending them aircraft and bombing convoys without taking credit as well as potentially assassinating a head of state

I heard this on the Jimmy Dore podcast recently, Dore was on Tucker’s web based show where he does one-on-one with a guest for an extended interview.

Dore asked Tucker how he gets away with being the only Anti-War Candidate on Fox and Tucker’s response was surprising to me.

Tucker said he really has no corporate sponsors who advertise on his show.

After hearing that I started paying closer attention to the commercials that played during Tucker’s show, sure enough, he’s got very few national advertisers, mostly the Mike Lindell and My Pillow ads.

No sponsorships by Pfizer or other high dollar corporate advertisers.

I agree on the 30 pieces of silver.

Who would want to give up those millions though.

Just shut up and don’t talk about the election...

Tucker is still a shining light in my eyes.

Apparently he's a "Ukraine First" guy now. Time to find a new America First guy.

Thank you!....God bless!

I will pay closer attention to his sponsors.
I, like others, have been a bit gobsmacked with his uncensored boldness!
Go Tucker!

Why do people from our side embrace our enemies?

Simple: they were never really on our side. It was just profitable to pretend they were.

“The problem is not that Putin is smart — which of course he is smart,” Trump told a crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference. “But the real problem is that our leaders are dumb. Dumb. So dumb.”

As scenes of war and death in Ukraine at the hands of Russia have played out for the world to see on television screens all day for days on end, Trump has changed his tune.

In recent days, he called what’s happening there a “holocaust”; said many times over that the war would never have happened if he were still president; and even called for the U.S. to attack Russia but make it look like it was actually China — by flying American planes with a Chinese flag on the side.

I listen to Hannity and agree, he’s against putting any troops into the middle of that mess. Support yes but anymore involvement that that no.

:: Save a handful. ::

One way is to revoke “roll-over security clearances” that simply renew every 4 years.
Make some of these “derps” go through a renewal process and, if it involves elected public servants, release the results publicly [cough]Swallwell[cough].
Another is to nullify the union contract of the SES...make them subject to “serving at the pleasure of the President”.
