The US badly needs more bidets.
That reduces TP needs by a lot.
I once rented an apartment with one. I only ever used it as an ashtray.
I have two, one for each house. I got my first one about a year and a half ago. I’m a believer.
The Japanese think us savages for not having them everywhere. I am told they are a must-have item for rental condos on Honolulu for the Japanese tourist trade.
More so, a hygiene issue. I retrofitted every toilet in my house with a "bidet sprayer" back when I lived in the States.
In my town, water is more expensive than TP.
