I saw my first robins today!!!!!
Yesterday was so gorgeous I braved the much in the garden and got some buckets set up for bucket carrots and put some seeds in two of them.
I also sprinkled a bunch of scallion seeds in a small section of my raised bed and covered them very lightly with straw.
Oh my word, we are inundated with Robin’s, i oooked,out and itmwas like a,scene from alfred hitcock’s ‘the birds’ movie. they showed up about 3 days ago (en mass I mean, maybe there were some loners before then, but if so we didn’t notice)
The robins arrived at our house on Saturday. The killdeers showed up last month before the snow was all gone. I've seen a few bluebirds scouting for nesting sites. And that dang woodpecker is hammering the aluminum fascia on the house every morning at 5:00am.
Bucket carrots? Tell me more. I have heavy acidic soil and they don’t do well here. I was going to build a raised bed but buckets sounds easier.
