We went to Universal in Florida in October. The weather was very pleasant (shorts and t-shirt weather) and the crowds were much smaller than during peak season.

Do yourself a favor - do NOT visit Florida in the summer except for going to the beach.

Don’t come the rest of the year either, it’s horrible; hurricanes, alligators, scorpions, fire ants, poisonous toads, giant pythons, retirees from New York, vacationers from Quebec, you’ll be sorry!

“do NOT visit Florida in the summer...”
...period. Humidity is horrific.

For summer, go to Manhattan Beach CA. Warm, dry heat, clean, sand goes on for miles, family oriented, water not too cold, surfing, and boogie boarding, and can take day trips to Disneyland with the fam. Bring lots of money...

Note: for weekends, check if there are surf or volleyball tournaments because parking at the main beach is inaccessible during those weekends.

I don’t know, probably blabbing too much. Would like to keep it a secret so it isn’t totally overwhelmed.

Or, if you just want to tour around, it is hard to beat the beauty and charm and gorgeous weather of the San Francisco Bay Area: SF itself (if you don’t mind the fog), the redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Cruz, downtown Palo Alto and the Stanford Theater, Carmel and Monterey, and many points in between.

Have fun.
