Many years ago I visited a place called Ninfa’s. Good food as I recall buthey served RATONIS...stuffed pepper with shrimp, battered and deep fried. Excellent.

Mama Ninfa Laurenzo is the one who first made skirt steak fajitas, and therefore is the ‘mother’ of said item.

Oddly enough, the original Ninfa’s on Navigation (East Downtown), sure enough isn’t owned by her family. They sold it, but opened a restaurant directly across the street from it, and have several around the city.
