Hard to believe but it is almost a full month since Truth Social, a new social media platform started by Trump Media, designed to offer an alternate twitter type on-line experience without all the liberal politics, was soft launched.
I know that there are some Freepers that simply will not tolerate any criticism of this platform which seems counter to Truth Social's mission statement with regard to free free speech. Having said that I do believe that it is fair game to discuss this service, the good and the bad, given that President Trump considers us his base of support.
I have spent almost as much time looking for third party information on the trials and tribulations of Truth Social as I did registering my account on the day the app was first offered in the Apple App Store. That was a month ago and still I wait for final approval to begin my Truth journey.
A google search turns up very little information and a smaller yet discussion from the actual company responsible. One could almost make a case that it is, as Napoleon might have said as has his army fell apart while retreating from Moscow, "It is like as a dream". For something that was supposed to be such a big deal, it has instead become a virtual spinster sister, no one wants to talk about it, or at least speak candidly about it in public. Think about it: President Trump has founded a media company and not even Donald Trump himself wants to talk about it. How could that be?
There are so many questions and scant few answers. While it could be argued that the platform is new and thus needs to be troubleshooted, that might have worked 15 years ago when this type of media was in it's infancy but does that really offer a satisfying answer today?. Go to any website run by a first time webmaster and expect to find an faq subpage but not at Truth Social. Visit the website of any large government infrastructure project and somewhere there will be a proposed construction milestone or timeline but none will be found at the Truth.
It could be that many of us overestimate the true public interest in such platform. Strip away the frustrations and lack of direction, the complete lack of news releases, never mind defensive words to the main stream medias criticisms and a lack of interest in the conservative media, and what is left? Silence I would argue. It's almost as if Truth Social really doesn't exist at all because no one is talking about it, not even Donald Trump. And I think that silence says a lot.
The law of averages will allow apathy to intrude on success every once in a while. I think that is the problem, there just isn't the interest at any level.
Have one for me too!! I'm diabetic, and can't drink.
iOS (iPhone/iPad/M1 chip Macs) only for now...Android phone & Web browser versions under development. See:

What is the significance of that, what does this really mean?
I am stuck at “Your Account has been created successfully!”, “Waitlist # 937,068”...been stuck like that for weeks. Darn it!
Good point about Trump. My number was in the 160k and I’ve been on Truth for about 3 weeks. My name is the same on Truth as FR. I have now followed you and randall. Glad to see some familiar posters.
Fat, Hang on, it’s not the end of March yet. TruthSocial still in testing phase with Apple, will fully open to all at end of March with any device.
Exactly.
Cool! Thank you.
instead of posting that there’s no information out there and Trump isn’t talking about it, why not do some research first? Don’t you think that would have been a good idea prior to your vanity post that TS is languishing?
I never did get thevregistration to work and forgot about it. Evidently Trump has too.

It is true that I have experienced frustration over this, I like a few others here have taken stock over the experience of the last month and have thus tried hard to separate my personal feelings from the scarcity of public feedback and information on this subject.
I wasn’t active in twitter but would sometimes read Trumps tweets. I don’t envision me personally becoming a Truth Star or anything like that. I downloaded the app mainly out of curiosity really but have been sort surprised that Trump didn’t do this totally first class, hire the absolute best people and buy the best hardware. Instead he took a lower budget route, which, quite frankly surprises me.
Back in the 1980-90s my wife and many of our friends worked for the Trump Organization in AC. I have met him a few times and one thing I can say that he stands for is quality. What is happening here is a mystery.
In short I started this discussion not to discuss the on-line experience or lack thereof rather to discuss what seems to be a lack of enthusiasm, friend or foe.
Thank you.
Welcome aboard. Glad to hear it

I finally got in a few days ago. Their platform is slowly rolling out and adding capacity.
They have previously noted this and stated recently that by the end of March the platform should be fully functional, but I don’t know if that will mean everyone can access, or other O/S access.
Apparently, they also have to weed out bots and deal with how to moderate. Starting from scratch isn’t a simple endeavor if you desire success over the long haul. A lot of details and operational procedures must be addressed and of course bugs/flaws. I think it has potential.
“One doesn’t launch an app in a kick the tires mode. At least not one that is obviously going to scale up from Day 1..

Yes
I think that to many people, I include myself here, because there isn’t a whole lot of official information coming forth from Trump Media, they speculate on what is going on or repeat what other speculators speculate in an effort to sound informed on the inner workings of the company or to defend the reputation of President Trump.
Obviously, the number assigned when placed on the waitlist doesn’t have anything to do with your actual place in the line, nor does it give an indication as to how many users are signed up for the service. It may as well be simply a random generated number or a lot number of several potential users but really no one knows.
Another theme that the speculators speculate on is the date given to go full release in conjunction with the release of the Android app. The date given is anywhere between March 25 and March 31, as if the end of March is a year away. It isn’t of course, there are two weeks left in March. It is difficult to see how releasing the Android app will do anything to ease the backlog of users trying to gain access and one would assume the Android app would bring with it some new problems at least in the short term.
It’s of course not impossible but seems unlikely that customer satisfaction will swing up sharply in the next two weeks.
Seems like a private club for now. An iPhone costs more than my Android phone and laptop together.
So for those still stuck on the waiting list, continue to be patient. It appears that the floodgates are opening up.
As for the app, it appeared to crash for a time last night but when I got up this morning, it's been working fine with no hiccups. I'm still getting the hang of it but the interface is similar to Twitter.
Even when I was on Twitter, I preferred using it on the desktop on my web browser. I never liked using social media on a smartphone. Everything is so tiny and my eyes aren't what they used to be. I need the big screen experience. That is coming soon I'm told.
I can’t stand trying to type on a phone
I assume he has considered that. What he plans, I have no idea.
