Hard to believe but it is almost a full month since Truth Social, a new social media platform started by Trump Media, designed to offer an alternate twitter type on-line experience without all the liberal politics, was soft launched.
I know that there are some Freepers that simply will not tolerate any criticism of this platform which seems counter to Truth Social's mission statement with regard to free free speech. Having said that I do believe that it is fair game to discuss this service, the good and the bad, given that President Trump considers us his base of support.
I have spent almost as much time looking for third party information on the trials and tribulations of Truth Social as I did registering my account on the day the app was first offered in the Apple App Store. That was a month ago and still I wait for final approval to begin my Truth journey.
A google search turns up very little information and a smaller yet discussion from the actual company responsible. One could almost make a case that it is, as Napoleon might have said as has his army fell apart while retreating from Moscow, "It is like as a dream". For something that was supposed to be such a big deal, it has instead become a virtual spinster sister, no one wants to talk about it, or at least speak candidly about it in public. Think about it: President Trump has founded a media company and not even Donald Trump himself wants to talk about it. How could that be?
There are so many questions and scant few answers. While it could be argued that the platform is new and thus needs to be troubleshooted, that might have worked 15 years ago when this type of media was in it's infancy but does that really offer a satisfying answer today?. Go to any website run by a first time webmaster and expect to find an faq subpage but not at Truth Social. Visit the website of any large government infrastructure project and somewhere there will be a proposed construction milestone or timeline but none will be found at the Truth.
It could be that many of us overestimate the true public interest in such platform. Strip away the frustrations and lack of direction, the complete lack of news releases, never mind defensive words to the main stream medias criticisms and a lack of interest in the conservative media, and what is left? Silence I would argue. It's almost as if Truth Social really doesn't exist at all because no one is talking about it, not even Donald Trump. And I think that silence says a lot.
The law of averages will allow apathy to intrude on success every once in a while. I think that is the problem, there just isn't the interest at any level.
It’s Generational. Boomers don’t need social media to have and give opinions.
I was 198,000-ish. It finally came through just today. Got a welcome email and the app works now.
They are doing it right in my opinion. Letting everybody in at once would have been chaos, everything would have slowed to a crawl, and the user experience would have been so bad that users would have given up (as I did with Parler).
Now that I'm finally in, the site flies. Everything is working perfectly and the experience has been great.
As Truth Social builds out, more and more people will be let in. I predict a hundred million users plus by summer. You can bookmark this and come hound me about it on June 21 if I'm wrong!
It’s working great whenever I use it, too. I just hope my, “Truths,” are showing up there. I’ve only put out 3-4 so far.
If the guy had any sense, he would look at how it’s been launched and sell every share he has. I’ve been listed at over 1,000,000 for two weeks. Is that number supposed to change? Why can’t I even look at the site? I can look at Twitter and Reddit without being logged on.
It’s kind of how he managed his cabinet—it sounded good, but in the end it was pretty much a train wreck.

Unoubtedly few on this thread care what you think either. Works two ways.
One doesn’t launch an app in a kick the tires mode. At least not one that is obviously going to scale up from Day 1.
These guys sound like people who launch little e-commerce sites and then don’t have no inventory.
Go out and buy the right people. Go out and build your own cloud server systems. Go out and buy people who have actually done this. This launch is very “bush league.”

Try updating your app in the App Store. If you have an older version, you will need to SMS authenticate. Once I did that, I was in a few days later (this afternoon to be exact).

I just went to your page. Your “Truths” are there. I see the one about the Las Vegas massacre, the gas station, the FL Studio and Juicy Smollett.

I have been on Freerepublic for 24 years and the only time I have had fellow conservatives insult me without cause has been on this particular topic.
