Hard to believe but it is almost a full month since Truth Social, a new social media platform started by Trump Media, designed to offer an alternate twitter type on-line experience without all the liberal politics, was soft launched.
I know that there are some Freepers that simply will not tolerate any criticism of this platform which seems counter to Truth Social's mission statement with regard to free free speech. Having said that I do believe that it is fair game to discuss this service, the good and the bad, given that President Trump considers us his base of support.
I have spent almost as much time looking for third party information on the trials and tribulations of Truth Social as I did registering my account on the day the app was first offered in the Apple App Store. That was a month ago and still I wait for final approval to begin my Truth journey.
A google search turns up very little information and a smaller yet discussion from the actual company responsible. One could almost make a case that it is, as Napoleon might have said as has his army fell apart while retreating from Moscow, "It is like as a dream". For something that was supposed to be such a big deal, it has instead become a virtual spinster sister, no one wants to talk about it, or at least speak candidly about it in public. Think about it: President Trump has founded a media company and not even Donald Trump himself wants to talk about it. How could that be?
There are so many questions and scant few answers. While it could be argued that the platform is new and thus needs to be troubleshooted, that might have worked 15 years ago when this type of media was in it's infancy but does that really offer a satisfying answer today?. Go to any website run by a first time webmaster and expect to find an faq subpage but not at Truth Social. Visit the website of any large government infrastructure project and somewhere there will be a proposed construction milestone or timeline but none will be found at the Truth.
It could be that many of us overestimate the true public interest in such platform. Strip away the frustrations and lack of direction, the complete lack of news releases, never mind defensive words to the main stream medias criticisms and a lack of interest in the conservative media, and what is left? Silence I would argue. It's almost as if Truth Social really doesn't exist at all because no one is talking about it, not even Donald Trump. And I think that silence says a lot.
The law of averages will allow apathy to intrude on success every once in a while. I think that is the problem, there just isn't the interest at any level.
Until there is an android application or a desktop version, I will not have any access to Trump’s site. I keep looking for information, but dang if I can find much, other than FR posts.
I hope they can get the site up and running on full strength by the end of this month. Meanwhile, I wait. :)
If Trump wants to run for and hold the office of POTUS, would he not be forced to drop any interest he holds in Truth Social or any similar media company, at least in order to avoid getting tangled up in a branle bush of (likely totally unfounded) accusations of domestic propaganda and voter manipulation?
How do you get it on PC? Anyone know?

In the bigger scheme of things, consider the weight each individual invests in what they read, and whether they accord that same weight to all other readers. It’s a mess. Everyone who publishes on the web thinks they have a megaphone, when in fact the bulk is ignored. Broadcast media is not an easy entity to dissect in the way of effectiveness. Just because millions might be reading, hearing, or watching, does not mean millions swallow. That’s Kamala’s job.

you’re FOS. Trump gave a good interview on 2/26 and Nunes has been all over different interviews talking about how it’s going. It’s still in beta testing on only apple devices....you know that right? they’ll roll out android soon which should increase users by 75%.
It sucks. I only have 1,000 connections.
The way they are rolling this out seems strange. Personally I don’t have much in the way of expectations for it. And it will be interesting to see what they consider to be free speech - somehow I don’t see that happening either.

I do prefer replying/reading on my desktop vs my android phone. These old eyes .... they like the big screen.
I'm thinking there are multiple waitlists because there appears to be over a half million people in the app based on the fact Trump already has over 596,000 followers and Dan Bongino is up to 370,000 followers.
Anyway, for those still stuck on the waitlist, don't despair that you will lose your coveted "Joined date". I got put on the waitlist February 20th and that is my official join date in my profile. So I can now claim I've been on Truth Social since Day One.
The app is pretty slick and very similar to Twitter. I quickly followed about a hundred people and my feed is yielding a lot of great info.
Everybody so far has seemed very positive. Finally, it appears there is a place on social media where real patriotic Americans can congregate. I think this app has great potential.
I can only imagine that in the near future, the entire waitlist will get on and people on the Android platform will be next.
I can easily see this app scaling up to over a hundred million users in the near future. I'm talking weeks or maybe a few months.
Yeah, I sometimes have to break out the old reading glasses to use my phone.
They’re still not allowing any access via the website. I won’t put an app on my phone in order to go there. I’m not really into social networking to begin with. Never did Twitter, Facebook, or the earlier ones. Joined Parler, Gab, and Gettr, but deleted them all because I never used them. Earlier attempts to subscribe on Truth Social, all met a repeated 405 Not Allowed error. Then the subscription page disappeared, and it hasn’t come back. It’s app only. If they ever allow you to join on their website, I might check it out. FR has been my home for 24 years, and as far as I’m concerned, it can’t be beat.
That's my take whenever I look for information as to when it'll be available for these two platforms. That information doesn't exist. One would think a company that markets itself as a more savvy social media platform would do some marketing to build suspense, tell Android and browser based users when the platform will be available for them and yet ... (crickets)
I'm just not interested in "Truth Social" anymore. They've blown it IMO.

There are 2 keywords, truth & social. I’ve tried putting in 2 separate keywords before, and I get results for truth and social, not truth social. How do I get results for truth social that way?
