“it was an extremely detailed study done by a team of highly talented engineers.
‘
Link or name of study?
I found a study that madeled charging and grid capacity to 2028.
With unmanaged charging during peak afternoon hours the grid will support 28 million EV’s. 7.5% versus the 3% that are EV’s now.
More realistically, they conclude charging in the wee hours would support 68 million EV’s.
A typical Level 2 charger can draw 7.7 kw, much less than you A.C. or heating unit.
About what you use to cook dinner using burners and oven.
Many people doing nightly charges will opt for a slower rate since they only need a small charge and which is also better for battery life.
Sorry, it wasn’t public...it was done by an engineering consultancy (my former employer) for an investment firm, I just happened to be invited to the presentation.
...I know that doesn’t exactly give me credibility but I know what I heard.
I drove it as if it were a Mustang. Actually, I drove both cars exactly the same (or as close as I could). The weather was the same, too (crummy).
Cost me $60-something for the electricity and $50-something for the A4’s premium gas and that was after driving a few more days on the same tank. Canadian dollars.
The round trip was maybe 350 kilometres.
Only when crashed by NBC News...
“The round trip was maybe 350 kilometres.”
A little over 200 miles. No way you had to stop twice to charge.
If you charged to full at home your electricity bill would be less than half the $60 you quoted.
Maybe he used the heater and defroster...most ev range numbers are derived at optimal conditions, much like EPA gas mileage.
“but I know what I heard.”
You sound like my wife.
“Maybe he used the heater and defroster...most ev range numbers are derived at optimal conditions, much like EPA gas mileage.”
I am giving credit for that since he was in Canada. He did not mention that relevant fact but later added $ numbers were Canadian.
Great cars. Last of the fox bodies. I had the shorty headers and X pip exhaust with flow masters. Automatic trans with a shift kit. A cold air intake and a super chip.. Lol .. I hated the gator back tires so i got tires with a harder compound. Big mistake. Could not drive the car on a wet road.
Does the sound it makes just go hum?
If you want the sound of a car out of the tailpipe I bet they will include a sound file you can play when you start the car and drive along.
Want to the receipts?
Charged twice in total. Once part way up and once when nearly home.
Someone should remind everyone where energy comes from.

I hear the Roush is quite a car. Would you
trade it for an EV?
Boo hoo.
The magnetic shocks in the performance package sounds nice.
i had electronically adjustable shocks in my old supra and thought it pretty cool.
No tailpipe.......................
We have had 4 mustangs in the family over the years and currently have 2, both parked in the barn, a 1967 and a 2017, 50 years apart. The car is not a mustang without the grumble.
I don’t know how I feel about a fake grumble. I guess I’d have to stand beside it and listen. That would probably break some salesman’s heart, because I would not be a real buyer. Lol.
When the EV toys have the rumble of our GT350R, along with the vibration, I might take notice, but I'll never, not for a millisecond, consider buying one.
