said, "Another “illegal alien” driver ?"
It clearly says, "Dodge pickup drove"
said, "We’ll never know."
how stupid or devious these writers are.

Was alcohol involved? I didn't see any indication in the stories I've read.

Life is very tenuous. So very true. We will all die some day. If there is a God (and I believe there is), we'd all better know the answer to the question "Why should I let you into Heaven?"

I've been a naturalized Texan for over 45 years. We have the highest per capita of lousy drivers in the nation. I felt safer driving 100+ mph on German Autobahns than I do driving here. It's not just failure to use turn signals, but stop signs are now considered yield signs. Driving while talking on a cell phone remains a pandemic.
I no longer like to drive after the sun goes down. My vision isn't what it used to be, nor are my reflexes. It really sucked when I realized I was no longer one of the finest drivers in the world (lol, an ever so slight exaggeration).
My road trips are now confined to daylight hours.

I’ve driven on those roads on a motorcycle. 90MPH was slow.

Could also include dodging a coyote or deer...

Drunk, drugged, texting, falling asleep? Regardless, people are dead. Elements of the left are quietly celebrating I’m sure, as the golf kids were from a Christian college.

My boys play college golf on the same team and travel in a team van. This is beyond tragic.
Saying prayers for the kids, coach and their families.

For unknown reasons, the Dodge pickup drove into the northbound lane and struck the Ford passenger van head on. Suicide by collision.

Two-lane roads are very dangerous. Off topic, but that reminded me of the three-lane Route Nationales in France: the center lane could be used by drivers going in either direction! Poulet! (chicken)

I've only been to Texas once and the only driving I did was in the Dallas/Fort Worth area....but I've heard stories about the wide open highways there and the things that happen on them.

They also appear to have outlawed the use of turn signals, there.Supply chain issues. Blinker fluid is hard to come by.

I got a bee in my motorcycle helmet once. It didn’t sting me. I was in the city so I drove really slow until I had to stop at a light. I opened my face thing on my helmet and the bee waited a few seconds - fanning its wings - and then flew away.
It actually was sort of peaceful and cute compared to the time I was chewing gum while riding my bike, tried to spit the gum out, and it got stuck inside my helmet. And in my hair. Eyebrows. Everything.

All wisecracking aside, what a horror. Someone - swerving truck guy - was probably drinking and going too fast or it wouldn’t have been that bad, with stuff catching on fire. I hope there wasn’t an illegal alien involved, but it wouldn’t surprise me. RIP college kids and their chaperones. I hope the reason for the crash is discovered.

If this was eastern Washington state, my money would be on a Hispanic driver. Not that’s I’m trying to be racist, but that’s the law of averages the past decade or so when they announce a deadly car accident.
