Your tax dollars will pay for the books. Most public library librarians are extremely liberal and many are gay. Public libraries purchase dozens of copies of every book written by liberals or conservatives bashing the conservatives or the conservative movement (people like Mary Trump). Most of these copies are never read, but they are bought anyway. If I went to my public library today and wanted to check out any of the top 10 novels in the US today, I would find there was a long wait list for the 2-3 copies owned by the library. If I wanted to check out the latest book by Michelle Obama there would be 15-20 copies gathering dust on the shelf.

He was never a big deal to begin with and did the first hoax (the mail fraud) in an effort to raise his profile after it was rumored he was being written out of his TV show.
