Crypto and blockchain are two different things but you can’t have one without the other.
The bottom line is that people lost “money”, accounts were raided and damages done.
It’s obvious you are blind to the reality that anything created by man can be corrupted by man. That includes Crypto.
Crypto is based on blockchain technology. Yes, I know. I never said anything to the contrary. What were hacked were exchanges, not crypto currency itself. I acknowledge some of the exchanges especially in the early years of Crypto needed to beef up their security. Then again, hackers steal fiat currency from banks and companies all the time too.
I'm perfectly aware that crypto currencies can be used for authoritarian purposes. That's exactly what CBDC's are. That however is very different - diametrically opposed actually - to most crypto currencies and privacy coins especially.
