Over the last couple of days, basic World War II history seemed to have eluded a pair of academics who were offering commentary on Ukraine and Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
While comparing Putin to Nazi Germany’s Adolf Hitler on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show,” Stanford University political science professor Michael McFaul — “a leading expert on Russia, American foreign policy, and democratic development around the world” according to his website — claimed that even as evil as the der Führer was, at least he didn’t murder his own people.

It’s possible that the academics have only ever used short knives; they’re certainly not very sharp in any case.
I suppose technically Hitler did not use chemical weapons on the battlefield but he sure found the sane compounds quite useful is mass murder.
The other so called academic talked about Danzig and the Polish quarter. He seemed to forget Hitler was given the German speaking Sudentenland, then he proceeded to take all of Czechslovakia. So the idea Hitler would stop if he was given the Polish corridor is ridiculous.

Can we file these two as ignorant bastards about forgetting about the gas chambers and the ovens all across eastern europe. Those camps were in the east because the germans thought a deal could be had with the soviets, with communisms anti judaism slant, if anyone found out about them in the USSR they would be ignored. The European and North America powers were “shocked” clutching pearls, but as early as summer 1942 the allies had the germans plans all figured out because quite honestly it was no secret for your average german.
Today russia has the same anti semitic slant, the same russian people and conscripts are cattle to be used by the state, and apparently the same immunity from economic pressures so far. Until russia is split into 30 independent states I don’t think the russian holdouts even can comprehend they lost long ago in 2000.
China is not Russia friend and your average russian knows that. My bet is that us govt will be 100% confident of lab leak if the china russia relationship actually gets any closer.
There actually is a legitimate Putin comparison here. We need to remember that Hitler was Austrian. He did not regard Czechoslovakia, or much of the rest of Central Europe, as foreign soil. Hitler's prewar territorial demands were largely a matter of reassembling an historic confederation that had been disassembled at Versailles, but under German rather than Austro-Hungarian leadership.
I always recall the old joke about the world's best public relations coup: Austria convincing the rest of the world that Hitler was German and Mozart was Austrian.
How about "Germanic Descent"? Hitler was all about racial purity and the superiority of the so-called "Aryan Race" blonde haired, blue eyed Germans.
German Jews (other than perhaps converts) were not the ethnic Aryan Race Germans that Hitler favored. Jewish German citizens slowly had their rights stripped away before the "final solution" of the gas chambers was affected.
What an absurd argument that German Jews were "ethnic Germans." They were German Citizens, German residents, and part of the German population, but they were not ethnic Germans.

They must have watched Animal House if they think the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.
The so-called expert seems to forget the 100s of thousands of German Jews, Gypsies, mentally ill and other undesirables (all Germans) that Hitler murdered with impunity.
