Her tweet"

"The average American now has to compete with major companies, including the largest private equity firm in the world, when they're in the market for a home.

In @FSCDems , we exposed the role corporations are playing in inflation, specifically in housing prices & rent increases."

If private equity firms believe the home rental market is that strong, is that a bad thing?

Or if they believe that they can make money updating and flipping homes, is that a bad thing?

Blackrock is going door-to-door in my hood. They have bought everything in site recently in many small Southeast US communities.

I believe the social democrats are just quibbling about the landlord. Instead of private capital being the landlord, they want government to own the property and rent it out based on DEI principles.

Did H#LL freeze over?
I actually agree with AOC on something.

It is not just Blackrock.
Fundraise, Crowd Source also are buying both existing and new multi family and single family homes in several markets

She’s right of course. What Blackrock is doing is spreading misery. But as usual, she’s a short sighted, ideologically blinded simpleton about how it happened.
If you were lost in a desert with her, she would explain to you that the problem is that there is no water. But she would have no idea how you got into the situation, or how to get out, or have the slightest idea of how to obtain water.

Blackrock is buying houses and renting them…sight unseen…

This will continue until, and if, the housing market crashes; at which point Blackrock will run to the government for a bailout.

--- "The proper answer is more freedom and market place."

Indeed. We just closed on a lovely second home. Larry Fink didn't make a competing bid. Xi Ping and the Chinese Commies didn't either.

Sometimes the news isn't as the news says.

As to less government, it is interesting that even official Marxist theory has "An argument of Engels and Marx that during the transition to communism, the state loses its bureaucratic and coercive functions ...

No Communist am I, but I find it interesting that the conservative view of "less government" and Engels "withering" of government point in a strikingly similar direction. Less of the state. My urge is to MUCH less government.

One also reads from this strange element from a Lefty site: "The proletariat seizes political power and turns the means of production in the first instance into state property. But, in doing this, it abolishes itself as proletariat, abolishes all class distinctions and class antagonisms, abolishes also the state as a state. "

The political party dedicated in its "equity" games, accusations of racism and systematic racism, and more is the Democrat Party. Class distinctions and antagonisms are the red meat of the Democrats -- including the nitwit bartender elected to Congress from Brooklyn. Why? Because they all cheer a bigger state. It is their red meat to gnaw at as they set citizens against one another.

You write, "The proper answer is more freedom and market place." We agree.

Building down the state is imperative. Eisenhower said, "As we peer into society's future, we -- you and I, and our government -- must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering, for our own ease and convenience, the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without risking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow."

Now more than $30 trillion in national debt, Eisenhower's warning was not heeded -- by the STATE. Democrats and RINOs feathered their own nests such that their STATE thrives, while the nation does not.

Just as has been the case in Ukraine, a corrupt profit center for the princelings of Biden, Pelosi, Kerry and Romney, to name a few. I recommend not reading the Marxist drivel, but rather President Eisenhower's inspirational speech from 1961.

The problem is, what she advocates is the total government control of housing, basically Council Estates where the government decides where you live.

That’s really bad. Renters can take good care of a home but in most cases they don’t and that can bring a neighborhood down really fast.

The most basic problem is that tenants have no binding attachment to an area; it is one of the benefits of renting versus owning - especially as our government is looking to both farm out the native gibsmedat parasites from bankrupt cities to economically-healthier suburban host communities while also importing masses of foreigners - particularly those with children to keep the public education caste in business - and attaching them to such hosts as well.

That basic relationship can’t be overcome; it is why the Founding Fathers only allowed taxpayers (in their day, property owners) to vote. While the pool of taxpayers has expanded greatly through income taxes and such, it is very clear since Johnson’s “Great Society” that “representation without taxation” is as dangerous to this republic as “taxation without representation”. Areas devoid of anyone paying any taxes are the only reason AOC and other “class warriors” have a job, playing on the grievances of our idle non-contributing underclass. There is no reason why people who do not, and never did, contribute to the pot should be allowed to vote - and I’d carve out an exception for those legally bound to a taxpayer (spouses, children) - as the family unit is contributing, and the government can seek financial recovery in the event the taxpaying provider abandons the family.

That is playing out now as many younger people are avoiding debt and other financial obligations (for example, children); it lets them live relatively freely, and it drives the elites and employers nuts. They are a hard population to control/dominate, and easily escape tax oppression and gibsmedat resettlement programs that target those of us who are less mobile due to mortgages and families.

Those houses will be filled with “refugees” that the government pays blackrock to rent to. While driving up the cost of housing for you and other Americans.
