Alec Baldwin filed legal papers Friday denying any responsibility for shooting dead Halyna Hutchins — even blaming the late cinematographer for giving him the directions that led to the deadly accident.
The 63-year-old actor insisted that every single mistake leading to the Oct. 21 shooting on the New Mexico set of “Rust” was “performed by someone else.”
His filing Friday also revealed that Baldwin made an “exhaustive effort” to get the crew back together to finish the doomed movie even after a flurry of lawsuits blamed him for mom-of-one Hutchins’ death.

No Alec loves Putin because he killed a Ukrainian. Because everything is Ukraine now. LOL
I think I get it...
He’s trying to get publicity by being included in Chappelle’s inevitable “Juicy Smolette” update...

How the hell does Baldwin dare say that an actor is not allowed to check a gun for status??? I’m sorry but the film industry is not closer to Gd than universal gun safety laws.
Everyone touching a real or realistic gun needs. NEEDS. To personally check whether it’s loaded. Actors are not forbidden to do so.
Also, to blame the director for making him cock the gun and point it directly at her????? There’s narcissism but this is in its own category of it. I hope someone on set can testify that he is lying.
The only thing better than watching Juicy Smollett getting hauled off to jail will be watching it happen to Baldwin.
For a long time! Juicy didn’t kill anyone.
Lorne Michaels chose him over SNL alumni Darryl Hammond to portray Trump.
Worst comedy decision ever. Hammond had been doing an amazing Trump impression for so many years. He inhabited Trump. When Hammond heard he would no longer be portraying the new President, he immediately vomited.
And I wanted to vomit every time I watched Baldwin’s atrocious portrayal. He was such a ball of hatred for Trump that he couldnt do even a decent impression. He was as funny as a middle schooler drawing an ugly stick figure of Teacher.
You have to BE your impression subject. You have to like and approve of yourself enough to appear realistic, and then add the funny idiosyncrasies. Hammond nailed it. I’m still upset he didn’t get those 4+ years
Maybe the person that gave him a weapon loaded with a live round ought to bear some responsibility for the outcome.
If SNL was really about comedy and not political posturing, they would have invited Trump to spoof the Baldwin shooting.
Words cannot describe how loathsome he is.
What low-life garbage.
Baldwin has already settled with Matthew Hutchins -- who hideously agreed to an executive producer's role on any restarted "Rust" -- which was actually supposed to restart this month, thus the indictment.
Joel Souza, who was wounded in the shooting, never filed and presumably received a hefty insurance settlement.
I’m pleasantly pleased that they actually filed on Baldwin. He pretty much begged for the indictment, IMHO. Ignorance of arrogance personified.
Explain. You must not have had any firearms training or you would not say that. My 10 year old great granddaughter knows to consider every gun loaded until YOU PERSONALLY confirm it’s not…the Golden Rule…Baldwin knows it too.
Explain how you know that Baldwin knew how to handle any weapon. The armorer’s job on a set is to ensure the safety of the weapons. In this case that person failed to do their job correctly.
Please, don’t be so effing stupid. Baldwin has miles of film of him holding, firing guns. Please!
yet not smart enough to verify the condition of the weapon before he cocked the hammer.
Typical Democrat, it’s never his fault.
Blame the victim, classic.
I thought he shot him in Hunt For Red October.
Only Perfect People do that they will proclaim.
Well, apparently the USA is FULL of Perfect People because every day people do exactly that. They check their weapons before pulling the trigger.
Gun manufacturers are blamed for people shooting people now. Why should the person in charge of this movie not have to accept responsibility for the people he hired to be in charge of gun safety on the set?
Baldwin pointed the gun and pulled the trigger. He was in charge.
