A Japanese company is selling metallic shelters that can be installed in apartments and small houses, for protection against natural disasters and even radiation and missile strikes.

WNIshelter specializes in compact shelters designed to resist anything from natural disasters like earthquakes and floods, to missile strikes and radiation. They come with their own air filtration system and come in a variety of sizes, to accommodate anywhere from one to seven people.

One problem: Don’t you have to stay in there for awhile. In Israel every home as a room where plastic visquene is taped to the windows and walls to block the fallout.

Looks fine to me. Put a couple of lift points on it and you can save money on coffins.

I guess these might sell well to people who don’t understand the concept of “half life”.

Yeah, if you can anchor it well.

I’d like to have a tornado shelter here in TN.
We’ve kind of become tornado alley the last few years.

And if it doubles as a nuke shelter, so much the better.

It’s just me though. Kids are rarely home. So doesn’t make sense to spend a lot.

Maybe they’ll be visting when a twister comes barreling through.

But, yes, I bet the price on these things is prohibitive.

Yeah, I hope not. I’d rather the shelter be a complete waste of money.

But it would give me a place to put all this food I hoarded for Covid.

Most major cities would be double tapped, at least. Is that thing rated at 50 megatons?

Metal shelters + intense heat = baked people

Do they include a special sauce with them?
