We need a strong and measured president to lead America in these precarious times. One who doesn’t bandy loose threats of annihilation or petty insults against foreign leaders on social media. One who doesn’t necessarily embrace his role as being the most polarizing figure in American politics. One who passionately rebukes the media and demolishes their lies, but remains grounded in logic, reason, and facts.
We need a leader who can’t be tied to leading America into COVID lockdowns or, right or wrong, the mythological January 6 “insurrection.” And most importantly, we need a leader that doesn’t come with the physical and mental impairments that come with 78 years of life on Earth, as Trump will be carrying in 2024.
The frontrunner for that role, it seems clear, should be Ron DeSantis. And while Trump was the right man for the presidency in his time, I hope that he will recognize that his time for that role has passed, and he will pass the torch to his natural successor.

That is exactly my thinking. DeSantis could “apprentice” as a strong VP, then get his own chance. We need TRUMP. I never recognized that sad sack of dishonest (to the bone!) low IQ addled feces as my president, or any of the lunatics and freaks he surrounded himself with as cabinet members. He is nothing but a pathetic meat puppet, drugged into occasional performance capability, by Odungo & other evil-beyond-evil minions of Satan.

The author is apparently too clueless to understand that those threats and petty insults were entirely purposeful, and extremely effective. The problem wasn't Trump's style or leadership, the problem was the left's visceral hatred of him, of America, and more than anything, of Trump's effectiveness, which exposed them all for the lying, useless, self-serving corruption. Nothing ever gets done in government to solve problems because the people in government don't WANT anything to get done. Trump exposed that to anyone who was willing to see it and admit it.

Not running and electing Trump will be as stupid as voting for (or installing) Joe Biden. Who are we to judge if Trump is up for the job?? Only HE can tell us that.....He’s already proved that he is the best there is in my 70-year lifespan, can do the job and do it well....the job rightfully belongs to him, anyway!!!

My only thought references the Nazis. You need a “state within a state” ready to assume leadership and purge the Swamp. Trump hasn’t got it, and I can’t imagine anyone on the Right having one, either. This is something only the Left could do, but they don’t have to.

I wish there was another Trump that could serve 8 consecutive years. Trump would make the best President for American interests, I have no doubt. Who else would govern like Trump but not be Trump? As bad as I wish Trump were President again, I am open to other options, if one exists, simply to try and start fresh without the BS stigma that the left successfully created.
That said, I also expect that the media will do to ANY Republican candidate the same thing they did to Trump. So I am withholding my convictions for now.
