You sound absolutely ridiculous. The bank should continue apologizing for this. It’s his $12k, and nobody’s business where it came from. You are aware that Atlanta is a high crime area, right? The reasonable assumption is the he didn’t want the teller to break out the noisy bill counter and attract attention which might get him rolled in the parking lot.
At $10k the bank is supposed to file paperwork but I thought they were redflagging the transaction at $5k, as if it were a structured withdrawal.
He’s a Hollywood Director worth around $24 million.
I’m thinking he didn’t want others seeing him get that much cash.
Whoops! I skipped over the word “director” and thought this was just some 60 retread trying to grift.
Not a withdrawal. The alert has to be filed on a cash deposit.
This looks like the back of a deposit slip, not a withdrawal form.
A withdrawal form with your account number printed on it is known as a check. There are also blank withdrawal forms in the bank which look like checks with blank spaces for the account number.
If he wanted discretion, he should have gone to a bank manager at a desk with his request.
It’s not withdrawals. It’s deposits. And it doesn’t go to the IRS, it goes to the secret service.
So now everyone knows he’s got a $12,000/week blow habit. Lol
LOL, yep.
Lot’s of places just need your debit card, and they fill in the rest. The form of paper asking what he wanted done isn’t a issue. Any piece of paper that has personal info on probably isn’t posted because of such details, which he might have provided.
Total. Set. Up.
This wouldn’t have happened in Feb (Jan date), the indoor mask mandate for Atlanta was lifted in Feb.
maybe you are correct.
They probably are- it’s none of their beeswax anyhow.
He’ll be making some huge bank deposits very soon after his lawyers get through with BOA...
His “note” request was very reasonable... At least here behind enemy lines in Maryland it is...
For large BOA cash transactions, I always ask to speak to the bank’s manager and conduct the whole business at his desk...
It’s unclear why he wanted the cash -AND- why he wanted it done ‘discretely’...
I am guessing it was exactly what they suspected- but the wording of a ‘note’ was giving himself wiggle room. Or lawsuit bait.
You want a withdrawal, HAND HER A WITHDRAWAL SLIP.
For as much as banks charge for in person services, I always just hand the teller my ID and debit card and tell them the amount of my withdrawal. They fill out the slip and I sign it.
I know exactly what he was asking. I had what he was concerned about actually happen to me. With a number of people milling about in the bank lobby, I had a young lady teller start counting out each and every $100 bill and loudly asking if I wanted a larger manila envelope to hold “all that money”? And I’m scouting the lobby and the exits, scanning faces, looking for potential trouble. Seriously, WTF?
The cops should have waited to see if he completed the withdrawal legally. Or just ran out with the money.
But hindsight is 20/20
Probably pulled the tags off his mattress, couch, and pillows as well.
“Yeah. He’s known in Atlanta, uses sunglasses for the cover, etc. The world is full of dumb people. He’s high net worth, taking 12g out wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. Goes back to know your client, banking 101.”
He’s from Oakland, although he may not still live there. The end of my block is in one of his movies for about half a second. If you freeze the frame you can read the street sign. He’s supposedly in Atlanta filming a movie, so there’s a good reason why the bank might not know him.
What no one has pointed out, maybe they don’t know, is that he’s RICH, and there’s a particular connection between banks and RICH people that can create an extra incentive for the bank to be nice to him.
There’s a reason why Mr. Drysdale was always so nice to the Clampetts, and it wasn’t Granny’s possum stew.
