There's a fine distinction. Before he ate the fruit, he was aware of her, and that she was naked, but it didn't register as such. After eating the fruit, he became aware that she was naked, in the sense of "nekkid".

Naked: Without clothes.

Nekkid: Without clothes, and looking for trouble.
