Newt Gingrich hosts an excellent podcast called "Newt's World." His Episode 382 "Why Are Our Schools Failing" is an wonderful interview of Luke Rosiak, the author of a new book "Race to the Bottom: Uncovering the Secret Forces Destroying American Public Education." Much of the interview discusses the abysmal state of Northern Virginia schools and Loudon County, in particular. I highly recommend this podcast. Rosiak worked with Peter Schweizer (author of "Clinton Cash") on the research for the book. The book sounds excellent if you want to learn more about what's going on in our schools.

One of Rosiak's key points is that people have ignored school board elections for far too long. He was shocked to find that the Virginia school district where he lives does not have a single parent on the board. All the commies are on the board to promote their own leftist pet agenda and not to improve education.
