DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Two people are dead following a weekend in a residential area of Daytona Beach, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
The victims were found Sunday morning in the 700 block of North Wild Olive Avenue with multiple stab wounds and lacerations.
Authorities confirmed the identity of the pair as Terry and Brenda Aultman.
The couple was found on the side of the road, just a couple blocks off Main Street, and very close to where all the bike week events are happening now in Daytona Beach.
Police say at first, they thought it was a hit and run, but then, saw that the man and woman both had slashed throats.
Investigators say the victims were married and were riding their bikes home from Main Street when they were attacked. Right now, they can’t explain what the motive could be.
"This is probably one of the most vicious and gruesome incidents that I’ve witnessed in my 20 years," Chief Jakari Young said. "We can’t rule out that this may be totally random, but if it is totally random, the person responsible has to be deranged."

why would you blame the victim?
Took me 7 months to renew mine in NC (Mecklenburg cty). I could still carry...just couldn’t buy weapons.
Because sometimes people do stuff that is so stupid, that they put themselves in a position to be hurt. Have you heard about defensive driving? Think of my comment like urging defensive living. Don’t do stupid things. Sorry, but America in 2022 is not a place to ride your bike at 1:00-2:00 AM. You are just asking for trouble. IMHO
why would you blame the victim?
Because people that live there have no rights to life, liberty , and pursuit of happiness. /s. That’s why pricks blame victims.
Florida has the Death Penalty. The police will catch the deranged evil and put him down.
Ditto back........love the rugers.
I’ve got the X with exposed hammer. DeSantis pocket holster and fits perfect in front jeans pocket.😄
Mine expires in 2025. However, thanks to new Tennessee laws, I won’t need to renew. 2nd amendment is our permit.
Trouble with that is that “don’t ride your bike at 1am” can quickly become “don’t go out after dark”, then it becomes “stay in the house”. Can’t let that happen.
I would still recommend renewing your CPL when it comes up. It is still handy for use in those less enlightened states when you travel.
Yes, I just wanted something that would fit in my pocket. No holster......just my pocket. Not worried about caliber or blowing someone’s head off.....just enough to make a difference and bring something to the fight.
