I have been having fun watching videos of Ukrainian farmers using their tractors to clear the roads of Russian tanks. Someone has joked that the farmers are now the fourth largest armored force in the world.
Some light news in dark times. Thanks
In Finland’s 1938 “Winter War”, in which they defeated the Russian army, one farmer was credited with killing 500 Russians.
https://liveuamap.com/ has a lot of reports from social media as well as government reports. The latter used to be from both sides, but the Russians stopped talking a while back.
Liked the one with three laughing Ukraunian farmers on a motorcycle with side car towing a light artillery piece...made even happier after Kiev said such items would not be taxed.
Oh now, you’re going to torque off the Putinistas with that!

1939-1940. The Winter War. The sniper was named Simo Hayha. And he used iron sights. That was some good shooting.
He was an incredible warrior. The enemy was on to him, and they set up an an ambush in an area that they knew he woild go to. The enemy sniper laid still for hours on end, and after no sign of him, he finilly gave up, and started to crawl away when... blamo- he experienced the worst day of his life, and the last. It was after dark, and he still managed to get the shot despite not having a scope which helps to ‘gather light’ so that the shooters can see longer into the dusk. His record with open sights was astonishing.
He also, had his cheek blown off by a sniper, and was almost ,eft for dead, but they saw his leg twitch, and discovered he was still alive, and rescued him. He had a ton of surgeries to try to repair the jaw, but he was still left quite disfigured. He lived into his 90’s I beleive.
I believe his name was Simo Hayha. He was sniper during the 1938 Finnish-Russo War.
