If true, this sounds like a revisit and update of the way the old USSR controlled news outlets-so that only the state-run ones like Pravda were available to the public...

IF this is true, could be for any of the following:

1. Keep Russia’s population from learning the truth of Putin’s war atrocities.
2. Make retaliation to their own cyber-attacks impossible.
3. Keep their state and business secrets from being compromised by non-Russians.
4. Keep their peoples’ emails, texts, social-media accounts from being exploited by western intelligence to “eavesdrop” on Russia’s public sentiment.

At least those seem to be the most pressing needs from where I sit.

Well, there is an up side. No more network scanning from .RU!

That just leaves .CN to monitor.

To protect Vlad’s subjects from mis-information, of course. That way he won’t have to order the police to ride horses over them or beat them over the head before arresting them for illegal protesting against the war.

For my part, in many ways, I wish the internet never was invented. The destruction it wreaks far outweighs it’s usefulness.

Information wall as they used to do during Soviet era.
Isolate population from outside events, cut off external source for negative news on war.

If true, the monster will have almost turned Russia into N. Korea in less than two weeks.

There is only one way out Russia...

Is the Russian Zone anywhere near the Twilight Zone?

Send in drones, small planes, hot air balloons, containing leaflets, DVDs, zip sticks all with graphic pics and videos of carnage, asking “is your son being sent on this Devil’s errand?” and the like. Moscow needs an uprising on a par with Maidan ‘14.

This can be done from the Bering Strait, Eastern Poland, Eastern Ukraine, Arch Angel, and by informed, concerned citizens within Russia.
