March 3 (Reuters) - Russian state-controlled news network RT said on Thursday it will begin broadcasting on Rumble, a YouTube-like video site, after tech companies including Meta Platforms (FB.O) and Twitter (TWTR.N) have restricted access to RT following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Tech companies in recent days have moved to restrict Russian state-controlled media including RT and Sputnik in response to requests from governments and calls to prevent the spread of Russia propaganda. Russia has called its actions in Ukraine a "special operation."
Streaming media company Roku (ROKU.O) removed the app for RT from its Roku Channel Store in Europe, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters earlier this week. read more

Rumble should be careful with this. The lefties don’t like Rumble and this would be a handy excuse to shut them down.

how are they going to “shut them down”?
Yes it’s slanted towards Russia but why do so many want to censor and not see what they are seeing over in Russia? Emotional cancel culture??
I watched a segment in between news cycles about an elderly couple that lives in Donbass in Ukraine. It was just about how the war is affecting their daily lives and how it makes it harder to pick grapes and raise chickens and how the man stepped on a landmine..

RT was in the past an ok alternative source on anything Putin doesn’t care about. Right now, some of the RT connected sites I previously listened to have becoming pretty grating to my ears at least.
It is important to listen to all sides of an issue to have an informed opinion.
That is why censorship of political speech of any kind is so dangerous.
It creates idiots and zombies.
If there’s even a hint of funds being transacted on Rumble for a Russian government news outlet Rumble can and will be sanctioned.
And I watch and support Salty Cracker on Rumble.
I’m not going to watch RT but it’s pretty disgusting for supposedly freedom loving westerns to censor someone.
Im not for censoring hippies and leftists but they need to censor RT during the Ukraine invasion. It’s a propaganda arm of a dictatorship
> Rumble should be careful with this.
Rumble would have already been shut down if the lefties had their way.
Considering Rumble is partnered with President Trump’s Truth Social, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the feds use this as an excuse to shut them down.
> but they need to censor RT during the Ukraine invasion.
“they”?
It’s not hurting anything to let them spout whatever they’re spouting. Sticks and stones you know.
While RT is pro-Russian, it is also decidedly independent. If you want to hear the other side that the media and government are trying to hide from you, RT fills that void. NPR CBS, CNN, NBC, ABC, NYT, WP all give you a strong government bias. Thats not to say they like the president. They don’t. But they like the military and the CIA. The swamp controls the media. But they do not control RT. So, yes it has a pro-Russian bent. But RT is important because its one of the few voices that does not have a strong swamp bent.
We are a democracy. We have freedom of speech. And so we should be able to tolerate, even defend speech that we do not agree with. Remember the line “ I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” We Americans need RT. Its very important that there is at least one source that is not pro-swamp. At the moment even our foreign media like the Financial Times or the BBC can’t be trusted. The Canadian CBC can’t be trusted as the truckers found out.
America needs voices of descent where ever they come from. RINOs speak for the swamp in republican accents. Whether its Graham or Kinzinger or Cheney or McCain. They are shills for the swamp. And they speak for republicans on the mainstream media. But they don’t speak on RT or at least they are challenged if they do.
Even if 95% of RT was blatant lying, the other 5% might provide useful information.
Putting your head in the sand is intellectually dishonest.
This is foreign propaganda. Not the same thing as stifling dissent among your own populace.
Even if 95% of RT was blatant lying, the other 5% might provide useful information.
That’s more than we get from our MSM.
Is RT independent?

Videos, even older ones, don’t appear to be monetized and there is no paid rumble rants in the chat
so it looks all good in that regard
Propaganda is propaganda—”ours” is as insane as “theirs”.
Whether it’s factual or propaganda, there is some value to knowing what is being reported in Russia. It can’t be any worse than the lies we see on CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, etc.
