The fact that verapamil is an out-of-patent drug to be repurposed for treating an off-label illness could be the kiss of death for verapamil. It was for Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin. Regardless of holding promise for being a T1D Godsend verapamil is a threat to big pharma.

Realistically there are only two causes of autoimmune disease. One happens when cellular mitochondrial DNA breaks up and expresses itself as bacteria. The immune system starts killing the affected cells. The other type of autoimmune disease happens when intestinal bacteria mimic organ cells. The immune system starts killing both.
