Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin opted to sit with Republican members during Tuesday's State of the Union rather than his Democratic colleagues.
The West Virginia senator instead sat between GOP Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker and Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney, directly behind Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst.
As Biden gave his address, Manchin remained seated and refrained from clapping as others applauded the president for lauding items within his Build Back Better bill, including the expanded Child Tax Credit that expired in December, which Manchin opposed.
During parts of the address, Manchin was spotted leaning over to speak to Romney on several occasions.

Manchin has absolutely nothing in common with todays Democrats, they have gone off the rails for several years now. Good for him...

He could have done better than the Romulan.

Hope the damned RINOs voting with the dems don’t run him out.

He has been shockingly pro-gun control for a West Virginian. My guess is that his resistance to BBB made the Dems attack him a little too hard, so he is showing them that he doesn't have to be a Dem at all. But he will stay a Dem, as he won't get a credible primary opponent and has the seat for life if he likes as he is. As a Republican, he might draw a serious primary opponent, and many won't trust him.

He should jump ship.Promise him the Chairmanship of whatever Committee he wants.Switching won’t hurt him at all with WV voters and Rat Party Headquarters already hates him so that’s not an issue.
To: Beave Meister
He’s been against the Dems on a few big items but otherwise in lockstep with them. He’s voted for every single whack job leftist judge Biden has put up.

I think you’re right. I’ve been suspecting he would switch and has just been biding time.

It probably stunk too much on the Democrat side for him to tolerate.

He’ll only switch after the Rs take back the Senate and by more than a few seats. If it’s close, he’ll stay D so that can continue to hold power as a swing vote.

I don’t know. There have been things for many years that have had me wondering. I think he will switch.

I saw that too..
Watched Cspan for Joey's SOTU FAIRY TALE STORY..and Manchin was hanging on to old Mitt Romney...that made my skin crawl...
Yes, Man chine should move to the Republican Party...but stop hugging that jerk from Utah...
I was ashamed of the way this SOTUS was so disorganized for the US CONGRESS, truly was a laughing matter, and Nancy and Kama sitting and joking and jumping up and down looked liked they were both having the effect of drinking their dinner... Nancy is aged out...like most of the Congress...old Maxie looked aged and lost in the woods with Joey and his strange ‘stare’ looks...
oh this Nation is a mess...Pray we clean it out in Nov. and take both Houses .
WHY does Biden scratch his nose, forehead all the time? what are the signals meant to say?????

I think psychologists call it 'displacement behavior', q.v.
My cats do it all the time, when they're caught in mischief...
