Preppers gotta prep. There are some on amazon and I did see one website that had them. I’m sure everyone’s bumped up their prices since Jan 2021 or since thus Ukraine/Russia thing.
and if you don’t have a spot to get 3 foot underground, seal up all windows and other openings with plastic and hunker down for a few weeks. The half life is pretty short.
Page 487 start with various viruses and biological attacks, and nuclear is page 496 of this 500 page Preparedness Manual. https://permasteader.com/cloud/index.php/s/3zE85pj87R7bPBc
Expedient Nuclear Shelters was put out by the military back in the day. Should be easy to find online.

“now that they have Goog Earth also.”
You don’t think they had intelligence satellite decades ago too? They did. Google Earth is not even close to what intelligence agencies get to use.
Thanks for the thoughtful reply.

I would say it is more designed for Joint Base Charleston.
So long as it’s not a southerly wind I’ll be fine.
Go find a concrete bridge abutment and sign your name to it. Stand in front of it so your body shades the signature from the blast then wait until you are vaporized.
You’ll leave behind an autographed shadow of yourself.
Some of my Boomer buds are having some serious flashbacks here. Younger FReepers, think of the mask and plague anxieties over the last couple of years, multiply them by ten, and consider that the Cold War lasted 45 years. Explains a lot, now don't it? Now get off my lawn. There's a fallout shelter underneath.
“I would say it is more designed for Joint Base Charleston.”
What joint base, and what’s a joint base?
The last time Charleston operated as a base for anything was when revolutionary Col. Moultrie dragged his 8-pound cannons from his barn to defend Sullivan’s island in 1776 from a British attack on Charleston.
A joint base is a base of the armed forces of the United States utilized by more than one branch of the military services. One branch of service typically hosts one or more other branches as tenants on the base.
Joint Base Charleston combined Charleston Air Force Base with Naval Support Activity Charleston.
Joint Base San Antonio is another example. It combined Fort Sam Houston, Randolph Air Force Base, Lackland Air Force Base, and Martindale Army Airfield.
Interesting, in that this moniker, "Rebelbase", has the same "about page" message as one with the moniker, "humblegunner."
