CHICAGO (WLS) -- The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill by a vote of 422-3 Monday night making lynching a federal hate crime.

...

Now that the bill has passed the House, it's expected there will be a unified show of support from senators, including Rand Paul from Kentucky, who opposed the originally measure two years ago for being too broad.

So ... does this mean that black people who attack Asian people are going to be punished?

That was my first question, too.

Wait, you mean it hasn’t been illegal all this time, or have they just now made it really, really illegal? Does this pertain to all or just whitey?

Like Federal Hate crime laws, this is redundancy.

Why is there even a “lynching” bill?

Just how popular is lynching?

And how many blacks have been strung up in the last 50 years?

I see yet another false premise by blacks and libs.

Will it apply to blacks stringing up white, yellows, and Jews?

Why “lynching” (hanging?)? Why not overall murder?

This “hate” BS has to stop. MURDER IS A CRIME, PERIOD. Why it has to be specially classified as “hate(sic)” and get extra special punishment I don’t know - except hoping to punish whitey.

I’d like to see your source.

I’ve heard not all that many over a long period of time.

Do you know how many that would add up to?

Never give an inch on this “whoaisme” narrative. It’s mostly overblown garbage - and libel.

“RAND PAUL BACKS ANTI-LYNCHING BILL”

So, lynching has been legal all this time?

All hate crime legislation should be abolished. Murder is murder. It does not matter if the motive was hate, robbery, or whatever. The same applies to other crimes.

Indeed.

It is actually outrageous when you think about it. A good way for media to scramble to condemn mysterious white people for a few paintings. Never mind that it’s almost always never an actual white person, despite their still overwhelming majority.

2nd, it shouldn’t matter what we THINK. This is thought crime. That is a big no-no from 1984.

3rd, the DEED is what matters. Killing is killing, stealing is stealing, vandalizing is vandalizing. We can all THINK what we wish about the deed, but ultimately it doesn’t matter. What matters is someone’s rights were violated by crime, and that is enough. Furthermore, is the victim due MORE recompense/justice just because he happened to fall into the “hate victim” group? Why should he get more justice than a “plain ol’” crime?

I thought murder was already against the law.

Why does this need to be a federal crime?

Are they worried that we might soon be coming for them?

# If I read this right, this bill would be a subset of assault, which is already a crime. Only the offense would be federalized, with all the attendant victim group politics that entails.

Right. it’s so a prosecutor can have a second pass at anyone who is ‘inappropriately acquitted’.

When black people murder white people it is a “love crime”—thought you knew that.

:-(
