HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The panel that regulates the sale of alcohol in Pennsylvania has ordered the removal of Russian-made products to show solidarity and support for the people of Ukraine.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board took the action Sunday in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The board’s action comes as some other U.S. states have made similar moves, and bars and liquor stores have pulled Russian vodka off their shelves and promoted Ukrainian brands instead.
“Given the evolving political-economic climate, it’s just the right thing to do,” said chairman Tim Holden in a statement.
Pennsylvania ’s board instructed all Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores and licensee service centers to remove Russian-made products. In addition, Russian-made special order products will no longer be available.
The order has limited impact because only two affected products — Russian Standard and Ustianochka 80-proof vodkas — are stocked in Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores, the board said. It also said about a half-dozen special order brands come from Russia.

The funny part is one supposedly well-known brand of Russian Vodka Stolichnaya or Stoli.
The vodka is actually made in Latvia, and the company’s headquarters is in Luxembourg - a member of NATO which has spoken against the Russian invasion.
Great so know they will probably be banning the sale of Vodka from a NATO member.
Tito’s is the best vodka hands down.
They are using the WWI Propaganda playbook. Next we’ll hear stories about Russian soldiers bayoneting Ukrainian babies.
Ohio did the same thing. Removed all Russian made vodka from state liquor stores.
I bought Tito’s yesterday instead of Stolyzy’s
It is made in the USA or Canada. Read the labels!
I haven’t drunk Russian Vodka in years anyway, and not for any political reason, I’ve just found that Polish Vodka is just as good and about 1/2 the price. Sobieski is cheap and easy to find at most liquor stores.
This is a remnant of Prohibition.
Yeh! And never mind that the small businesses will take another hit!
Simply because they can and they have taken on the authority to make it happen. Their Emergency Covid powers grant them unlimited power to do stupid things without question. Especially knee jerk, liberal minded things with no regard for the unintended circumstances that may result from their hastiness. Supply and demand be damned! The regulating governmental authority has spoken and the market will just have to adjust to it because clearly they know more about what you want and/or need than you do.
I’ve heard that before, but I like Organika. True Russian vodka from Siberia. It’s prime!
Can’t wait for China’s aggression and the groundswell of everyone ditching the Made in China.. oops
How about that Russian gasoline?
Will they pull it off the market?
Ever notice that our government puts real effort to making sure all foreign suds are in the country legally?
Is that the brown stuff?
Remove them to where?
So, after 2 years of hanging onto their stores by their fingernails, they’re now suppose to lose more on whatever Russian bottles on the shelves. Russia already got paid for those bottles. What’s the point now?
Waiting for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to also ban Chinese products for the Communist Chinese Government enslaving the Uighur people.
Wait for the lawsuits to fly because it's highly likely the vodka was made in the U.S. by a non-Russian firm.
Ridiculous
