ATLANTA — Early Sunday morning, another group of street racers stopped traffic at the 10th Street and Piedmont Road intersection so they could burn rubber on top of Atlanta’s “Rainbow Crosswalk”.
They cleared the area before Atlanta police arrived but left more damage at the busy intersection just a few days after it had been cleaned up.
Atlanta Police are offering a $2,000 reward for anyone with information on the street racers who have been disrupting Atlanta’s streets and leaving damage at one of the City’s better known landmarks.
Last Sunday morning, APD responded to reports of street racers doing the exact same thing at the popular street corner.

Excellent!
The cops should make a deal with the street racers:
Rainbow Crosswalk Intersections are FREE RACE ZONES, but No Racing anywhere else in the city.
And, on the QT, let the Streets Department know that they'll have police protection only when painting Standard Crosswalks, the choice is theirs.
Looks like that’s what it was made for. Donut square. But definitely NOT street racing.
If tire marks on these rainbow crosswalks is bad, isn’t walking on them even worse? It seems like gay iconography is now sacred - I’m surprised we aren’t all required to genuflect every time we pass a rainbow flag.
male AA’s as a group are not what you would call fervent supporters of gaystapo....
Atlanta? Could be any number of the street racers from the ATL. They did a pretty good job.
You’re right, two cars. Or perhaps the same car twice.
Painted crosswalks, like that one, are slick!
A safety hazard.
Love it!
Wonder if they really just want publicity?

I had to go to the video to confirm those rainbow crosswalks weren’t photoshopped. The tire tracks with the rainbow frame are a work of art!
“Have they ever thought about putting in surveillance cameras?”
The mischief makers (I once was one) need to be careful about that.
A bunch of Sherman wanna-be’s.
Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules.
Alinsky
“People will do what they do”
“it’s up to the communities to decide what statues they want to see”
“I don’t know that has to be a commission but it could be a community view.”

Looks like slightly different track widths. Either way, it’s only incidental contact with the rainbow crosswalks. Kind of poor effort for a hate crime.
I think they are just trying to be a nuisance wherever possible, and “hate” has nothing to do with it. Street racing and burnouts increased during the pandemic, and the police have been trying to crack down on both.
Yours is better. I couldn’t figure out how to load a gif.
